The 2019–20 season was Cambridge United's 108th season in their history, their 41st in the Football League, and their sixth consecutive season in League Two. Along with League Two, the club participated in the FA Cup, EFL Cup and EFL Trophy. The season covers the period from 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2020. Cambridge ( ) is a university city and the county town in Cambridgeshire, England. It is located on the River Cam approximately north of London. FA Cup
The Football Association Challenge Cup, more commonly known as the FA Cup, is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic English football. First played during the 1871–72 season, it is the oldest national football competition in the world. It is organised by and named after The Football Association (The FA). Since 2015, it has been known as The Emirates FA Cup after its headline sponsor. A concurrent women's tournament is also held, the Women's FA Cup. Harrison Dunk
Harrison Charles Dunk (born 25 October 1990) is an English professional footballer who plays as a left back or left midfielder for club Cambridge United. Career Dunk was born in Hammersmith, Greater London. He joined Bromley on 7 August 2009, after being spotted in an under-18 tournament in Germany, following time with AFC Wimbledon. He featured regularly for the club in his debut campaign, and was also selected the club's Player of the Season. George Maris
George Thomas Maris (born 6 March 1996) is an English professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder for League Two club Mansfield Town. Career Maris began his career at Barnsley at under-15 level, signing his first professional contract on 29 May 2014 after a 20-goal season for the under-18s. On 30 January 2015, he went on a one-month youth loan to Nuneaton Town in the Conference Premier. He started on his senior debut the following day, in a 1–0 loss at Forest Green Rovers. Andrew Dallas (footballer)
Andrew Robert Dallas (born 22 July 1999) is a Scottish footballer who plays as a forward for EFL League One club Barnsley He came through the youth academy at Scottish Premiership side Rangers but failed to make a first team appearance, spending time on loan with Stenhousemuir and Greenock Morton. In 2019 he signed for Cambridge United. He got his break when manager Brian Stock took him on loan for National League side Weymouth, where he scored 12 goals in 25 appearances. Liam O'Neil (footballer)
Liam Christian James O'Neil (born 31 July 1993) is an English footballer who plays as a defender and midfielder for club Cambridge United. Career West Bromwich Albion O'Neil is a product of the West Bromwich Albion youth academy, having joined from Non-League club Histon as a youth player. In May 2012, O'Neil signed his first professional contract with the club. O'Neil then debuted for West Brom in a crucial 2–1 victory over Swansea City on 15 March 2014, and then went on to make two further appearances from the bench against Stoke City and Norwich City respectively. Luke Hannant
Luke James Hannant (born 4 November 1993) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Dundee, on loan from club Colchester United. He spent his youth with Norwich City and Cambridge United, before embarking on a degree at Northumbria University. During his time as a student he played non-league football for Dereham Town and Team Northumbria. He helped Dareham to win the Eastern Counties League Premier Division championship title in 2012–13. He joined Gateshead in 2016, and after returning from a dual registration spell at South Shields managed to established himself in the first-team. Gary Richard Deegan (born 28 September 1987) is an Irish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for League of Ireland Premier Division club Drogheda United. Gregory Vaughan Taylor (born 15 January 1990) is an English professional footballer who plays for club Cambridge United. He is a central defender who has played at left back for some of his career. He has also played in central midfield. Club career Taylor was born in Bedford, Bedfordshire. George Taft
George William Taft (born 29 July 1993) is an English professional footballer who plays as a centre back for club Worksop Town. A graduate of Leicester City's youth academy, Taft failed to break into the first team and was loaned out to Kettering Town, Karlstad BK and York City. Daniel Jeffrey Jones (born 23 December 1986) is an English former footballer. He played as a left-back or on the left side of midfield. He began his career at Wolverhampton Wanderers, turning professional in January 2005 after a long association as a youth team prospect. Kyle Andy P. Knoyle (born 24 September 1996) is an English footballer who plays as a right-back for League Two club Stockport County.
