The 2019–2020 Congo River floods resulted from torrential rains from October 2019 to January 2020 that caused the overflow of the Congo River, Congo and Ubangi River, Ubangi rivers, floods and landslides throughout the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Republic of the Congo, Republic of Congo (RoC) and led to the displacement of hundreds of thousands of people. Plateaux District
The Plateaux District was a former district located in the current Mai-Ndombe Province, until no later than February 2009. However, the change was not implemented until 2015, and until then it was part of the Bandundu Province. Location The district lies on the east bank of the Congo River, just upriver from Kinshasa, with the Republic of the Congo to the west.
