2019 Women's South American Volleyball Club Championship
The 2019 Women's South American Volleyball Club Championship is the eleventh official edition of the Women's South American Volleyball Club Championship, played by five teams from February, 19 to February 23, 2019, in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Minas Tênis Clube won its second consecutive and overall title, and qualified for the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship. The Brazilian middle blocker Carol Gattaz was elected the competition MVP. Pools composition Venue All the matches were played at the Arena Minas in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Minas Tênis Clube (women's Volleyball)
Minas Tênis Clube (short, just ''Minas'') is a social, recreational and sports club from Belo Horizonte, Brazil. By 2013, it has more than 73,000 members. Its patrimony comprises two urban units, the Minas I and Minas II, and two country units, Minas Country and Minas Tênis Náutico Clube. It also has its own indoor arena, named Juscelino Kubitschek Arena, which is a part of the Minas I complex. Minas is best known for the professional teams it maintains, in a variety of olympic sports. It also maintains youth teams, and is recognized to be one of the most important formation centers of new sports talents in Brazil. Caroline Gattaz
Caroline de Oliveira Saad Gattaz, better known as Carol Gattaz (born July 27, 1981), is a volleyball player from Brazil. She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics, in the Volleyball at the 2020 Summer Olympics – Women's tournament, Women's tournament, winning a silver medal. Gattaz won the Volleyball World Grand Prix, World Grand Prix three times in a row. Early career Gattaz was born in São José do Rio Preto. Before playing volleyball, as a teenager, Gattaz played futsal, defending her city's club América Futebol Clube (SP), América-SP, where she played as a striker. Still in high school, she started playing volleyball. Career Gattaz, who plays as a middle blocker, started her career defending São Caetano/Blausiegel, São Caetano, then moved to Rexona-Ades in 2000. Natália Zilio Pereira (born 4 April 1989) is a Brazilian professional volleyball player who won with the Brazil women's national volleyball team the gold medal in the 2012 Summer Olympics. Career Pereira was part of the Brazilian team who won the gold medal in the 2012 Summer Olympics. During the 2015 FIVB Club World Championship, Pereira played with the Brazilian club Rexona Ades Rio and her team lost the bronze medal match to the Swiss Voléro Zürich.
