2019 Utah State Aggies Football Team
The 2019 Utah State Aggies football team represented Utah State University in the 2019 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Aggies were led by head coach Gary Andersen in his fifth overall season, although first season after taking over as the program's head coach for the second time. The team played their home games at Maverik Stadium, and competed as members of the Mountain Division of the Mountain West Conference. Previous season The Aggies finished the 2018 season with an 11–2 overall record, going 7–1 in conference play to tie for first place in the Mountain Division with Boise State. The team was invited to the 2018 New Mexico Bowl where they defeated North Texas 52–13. Head coach Matt Wells was hired by Texas Tech shortly after the season ended, and Gary Andersen was named his replacement on December 9, 2018. Gary Andersen
Gary Lee Andersen (born February 19, 1964) is an American football coach who was most recently head football coach at Utah State University. Andersen has also been the head football coach of Southern Utah (2003), Wisconsin (2013–2014), and Oregon State (2015–2017). He served three years as the defensive coordinator at Utah, where he coached the 2008 Utes team that went undefeated and beat Alabama in the Sugar Bowl to finish the season ranked second in the nation. He is currently an analyst at Weber State. Playing career Andersen began his football career playing at Cottonwood High School, where he lettered in football for two years. After high school, he played center at Ricks College (now Brigham Young University–Idaho) in Rexburg, Idaho, for two seasons. Jordan Love
Jordan Alexander Love (born November 2, 1998) is an American football quarterback for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Utah State and was drafted by the Packers in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Early life and high school career Love was born in Bakersfield, California, on November 2, 1998. His father, Orbin, died when Love was 14 years old. Love attended Liberty High School. Green Valley Ranch
Green Valley Ranch is a hotel and casino located within the eponymous community in Henderson, Nevada. It is owned and operated by Station Casinos, and includes a casino. The resort was initially proposed by American Nevada Corporation, which received city approval to build it in 1996. In addition to a hotel-casino, the company also planned to build a mixed-use project to accompany it. Construction began in 2000, after American Nevada partnered with Station Casinos, which would co-own and operate the property. Green Valley Ranch opened on December 18, 2001, with 201 rooms and a casino. While a locals casino, the resort was designed with an upscale element. The Lott IMPACT Trophy is presented annually to the college football defensive IMPACT player of the year. Butkus Award
The Butkus Award, instituted in 1985 by the Downtown Athletic Club of Orlando, is given annually to the top linebackers at the high school, collegiate and professional levels of football. The award, named in honor of College Football Hall of Fame and Pro Football Hall of Fame linebacker Dick Butkus, is presented by the Butkus Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports a number of health and wellness activities including the "I Play Clean" anti-steroid program. Tipa Te'i Galeai (born February 26, 1997) is an American football outside linebacker. He was signed by the Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2020 following his college football career with the TCU Horned Frogs and the Utah State Aggies. Professional career Galeai signed with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent following the 2020 NFL Draft on April 29, 2020. He was waived during final roster cuts on September 5, 2020, and was signed to the practice squad the next day. Dominik Eberle (born July 4, 1996) is an American football placekicker who is currently a free agent. He played college football for the Utah State Aggies football, Utah State Aggies.
