2019 UCI Road World Championships – Mixed Team Relay
The Mixed team relay of the 2019 UCI Road World Championships was a cycling event that took place on 22 September 2019 in Harrogate, England. It was the first time the event had been held, as it replaced the men's and women's team time trial from previous editions. 2019 UCI Road World Championships
The 2019 UCI Road World Championships was the 92nd edition of the UCI Road World Championships, the annual world championships for road bicycle racing. It took place between 22 and 29 September 2019 in the historic county of Yorkshire, United Kingdom, the fourth to be held in the United Kingdom. The championships are traditionally hosted by a single town or city but, while each event in 2019 finished in the North Yorkshire town of Harrogate, the whole historic county of Yorkshire was the official host. Heavy rainfall caused some of the events to be re-routed and delayed. Men and women were split into the categories of elite, under-23 (only men) and junior, competing individually in the two traditional road race and time trial disciplines of road bicycle racing. Davide Martinelli (born 31 May 1993) is an Italian professional road bicycle racer, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career Martinelli made his debut in an jersey in the 2016 Tour Down Under. On 24 February 2016, he scored a surprise first professional win in stage 2 of the Tour La Provence. He was the lead out man for Fernando Gaviria in the finale, but a crash split the peloton which allowed a chance for him to cross the line ahead of Gaviria. Elisa Longo Borghini (born 10 December 1991) is an Italian professional road cyclist, who rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . During her career, Longo Borghini has won two bronze medals in the road race at the Summer Olympic Games, taking third-place finishes in Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo. Harry Tanfield (born 17 November 1994) is a British cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Continental team . Career From Great Ayton in Yorkshire, England, Tanfield rode for in 2015 and in 2016, before joining for the 2017 season. At the British National Track Championships, Tanfield finished third as part of the men's team pursuit and second in the men's omnium. Daniel John Bigham (born 2 October 1991) is a British racing cyclist, who rode for UCI Continental team from 2018 until 2021. He rode in the men's individual pursuit event at the 2018 UCI Track Cycling World Championships. Starting in 2022, he also works for Ineos Grenadiers as a performance engineer, helping the riders on the team improve their aerodynamic performance.
