2019 Team Bath Netball Season
The 2019 Team Bath netball season saw Team Bath finish third in the 2019 Netball Superleague regular season and qualify for the playoffs. In the semifinals they lost to the eventual overall champions, Manchester Thunder. Team Bath subsequently defeated Loughborough Lightning in the third place play-off. Squad Preseason Fast5 Netball All-Stars Championship On 13 October 2018, Team Bath played in the Fast5 Netball All-Stars Championship. They were knocked out in the double elimination stage. ;Double Elimination Stage Friendly Tri-Tournament On 15 December 2018 Team Bath hosted and won a three team tournament which also featured Surrey Storm and benecosMavericks. The tournament was broadcast live on BBC Sport. 2019 Netball Superleague Season
The 2019 Netball Superleague season was the fourteenth season of the Netball Superleague, the elite domestic netball competition in the United Kingdom. The season commenced on 5 January 2019. Manchester Thunder were the champions and defeated Wasps Netball in the Grand Final at the Copper Box Arena. The Thunder's victory ended Wasps' back-to-back run of titles and was their third championship in the competition. Overview Teams At the end of the previous season, England Netball announced the withdrawal of Team Northumbria from the competition. The organisation revealed a capital-based team (the London Pulse) would take their place, thereby ensuring the league remained at 10 teams. Format The format is the same as the previous season, with a double round-robin structure utilised. Wasps Netball
Wasps Netball were an English netball team based at the Coventry Building Society Arena in Coventry, Warwickshire. Wasps Netball was formed in 2016 as a partnership with the Premiership Rugby team, Wasps RFC. Since 2017 their senior team has played in the Netball Superleague. They were Superleague champions in 2017 and 2018. The holding company for the team were placed in insolvency on 17 October 2022. History New franchise In June 2016 it was announced that Wasps, together with Severn Stars and Scottish Sirens, would be one of three new franchises that would join the Netball Superleague for the 2017 season. Wright Robinson College is a coeducational secondary school in Abbey Hey, Gorton, Manchester, England. Severn Stars are an English netball team based at the University of Worcester and the University of Gloucestershire. The team is named after the River Severn, which runs through Worcester and Gloucester, the home cities of the two universities. Severn Stars were formed in 2016 and since 2017 their senior team has played in the Netball Superleague. London Pulse
London Pulse is an English netball team based at the Copper Box Arena in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Stratford, London. Since 2019 their senior team has played in the Netball Superleague. History National Performance League London Pulse was originally founded in 2016. Former England netball international, Natalie Seaton founded the franchise and subsequently became the CEO. London Pulse initially entered under-17 and under-19 teams in England Netball's National Performance League. They also launched a campaign to become a Netball Superleague franchise. Strathclyde Sirens
Strathclyde Sirens are a Scottish netball team based in Glasgow. Since 2017 their senior team has played in the Netball Superleague. Sirens also played in the 2018 Netball New Zealand Super Club tournament. They were originally known as the Scottish Sirens. In 2017 they became the UWS Sirens as a result of a sponsorship arrangement with the University of the West of Scotland. Surrey Storm is an English netball team based at the University of Surrey. Their senior team plays in the Netball Superleague. Between 2001 and 2005 they played in the Super Cup as London Hurricanes. After forming a partnership with Brunel University London, they became the Brunel Hurricanes. In 2005–06 they were founder members of the new Netball Superleague. Before the 2009–10 Netball Superleague season, they ended their partnership with Brunel University, relocated to the University of Surrey and became Surrey Storm.
