2019 Saint Francis Cougars Football Team
The 2019 Saint Francis Cougars football team represented the University of Saint Francis, located in Fort Wayne, Indiana, in the 2019 NAIA football season. They were led by head coach Kevin Donley, who served in his 22nd year as the first and only head coach in the history of Saint Francis football. The Cougars played their home games at Bishop John M. Kevin Donley
William Kevin Donley (born July 4, 1951) is an American football coach and former player. In the spring of 2021 (a delayed start to their 2020 season due to the COVID pandemic), Donley began his 42nd championship season as a head coach in addition to the 1997 season which was devoted to establishing the football program at the University of Saint Francis (Indiana), University of Saint Francis. Donley was named head coach there in April 1997. The Saint Francis Cougars football, Saint Francis Cougars began play in the 1998 season; thus, the 2020 championship season marks Donley's 23nd season since the program's inception. Donley currently holds the NAIA record for most wins by a NAIA football coach. 2019 NAIA Football National Championship
The 2019 NAIA Football National Championship was a four-round, sixteen team tournament played between November 23 and December 21, 2019. The tournament concluded with a single game, played as the 64th Annual NAIA Football National Championship. The championship game was played at Eddie Robinson Stadium in Grambling, Louisiana, between the undefeated No. 2 Marian Knights, representing Marian University from Indianapolis, Indiana, and the undefeated No. 1 Morningside Mustangs, representing Morningside College from Sioux City, Iowa. The Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) is a college athletic conference affiliated with the NAIA. Member institutions are located in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, and Missouri. The MSFA was organized in 1993, and on-field competition began in 1994. The MSFA is divided into two leagues, the Mideast and the Midwest. Joliet Memorial Stadium is a 10,000-seat multipurpose stadium located in Joliet, Illinois. It is used mostly for American football and soccer matches, and also sometimes for athletics. It was built in the early 1950s, opened in 1951 and is dedicated to Joliet residents who fought in World Wars I and II as well as the Korean War. In 1946, the Joliet Junior Chamber of Commerce chose a board to start building a stadium. Andrew B. Barber was named Chairman and he had a four person committee. The five presented their idea to the Joliet Park District officials. The officials wanted proof that the residents of the district would approve of the building of the stadium. In one month's time, the officials gained petitions with the signatures of 22,000 residents of the Joliet park district. Upland (pronounced as "up-land") is a town in Jefferson Township, Grant County, Indiana, United States. The population was 3,845 at the 2010 census. 2019 NAIA Football Rankings
The 2019 NAIA football rankings reports the poll results conducted during the 2019 NAIA football season. Each season, one poll evaluates the various National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) football teams and ranks them. Coaches from each of the football conferences are members of a selection panel, with conferences receiving one vote for every 4 member teams. Sometimes referred to as the football ratings or the NAIA Coaches' Poll, the poll is generally conducted once during the preseason and after each week of play during the regular season. The Top 25 was determined by compiling points for each vote. A team received 25 points for each first-place vote, 24 for second-place and so on through the list.
