The 2019 SaarLorLux Open was a badminton tournament which took place at Saarlandhalle in Saarbrücken, Germany, from 29 October to 3 November 2019 and had a total prize of $75,000. Tournament The 2019 SaarLorLux Open was the tenth and last Super 100 tournament of the 2019 BWF World Tour and also part of the SaarLorLux Open championships, which has been held since 1988. This tournament was organized by German Badminton Association and sanctioned by the BWF. Venue This international tournament was held at Saarlandhalle in Saarbrücken, Saarland, Germany. Saarlandhalle
Saarlandhalle is a 5,500-capacity multi-purpose indoor arena located in Saarbrücken, Germany. Originally opened in 1967 with funds from Saarland Sporttoto for sports competitions, it was later converted to multi-purpose indoor arena. The Ludwigsparkstadion is located near the hall. Saarlandhalle is also the first indoor arena in (West) Germany to be organized as a limited liability company. It has hosted concerts by many famous artists, including A-ha, AC/DC, Chris de Burgh, Depeche Mode, Bob Dylan, Boney M., Metallica, Pink Floyd, Sting and Uriah Heep, among others. These days larger productions refrain from visiting it, as technical requirements have generally extended to a degree which the Saarlandhalle cannot meet any longer with its given specs. Weng Hongyang (; born 18 June 1999) is a Chinese badminton player. He won his first BWF World Tour title at the 2019 Lingshui China Masters. Career Early career Weng entered the Fuzhou Sports School in 2006, and later the Fujian Sports School in 2009. He joined the provincial sports team in March 2011, and entered the national team in March 2018. Kiran George
Kiran George (born 11 February 2000) is an Indian badminton player who trains at the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy. He won the Polish International title. He also competed in the 2020 Thomas Cup and 2022 Badminton Asia Team Championships. Career 2021–22 In 2021, Kiran George's first tournament played was the Orléans Masters where lost to Brice Leverdez in the 3rd round. Toma Junior Popov
Toma Junior Popov (born 29 September 1998) is a French badminton player. He won the bronze medal at the 2015 European Junior Championships in the boys' singles event. Popov made history as the first non-Danish male player to win a European Junior team gold as well as the men's singles and doubles in 2017. He joined Peter Gade, Jim Laugesen, and Thomas Stuer-Lauridsen as the only men to have ever completed the treble. Toby Penty
Toby Penty (born 12 August 1992) is a retired English badminton player. He started playing badminton at aged 9, and won U-19 English National Championships in 2011. In 2010, he won junior titles in the Netherlands and Switzerland. In 2017, he won the Swedish International tournament in the men's singles event. Penty competed at the 2019 European Games, 2020 Olympic Games and at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Penty announced his retirement on 6 September 2022. Lucas Maurice Corvée (born 9 June 1993) is a French badminton player affiliated with Issy Les Moulineaux 92 club. Corvée started playing badminton at aged 6 in Alençon badminton club. His mother also a professional badminton player. Misha Zilberman
Misha Zilberman ( he, מישה זילברמן, russian: Миша Зильберман; born 30 January 1989) is an Israeli badminton player. He competed for Israel at the 2012, 2016, and 2020 Summer Olympics. He also won a bronze medal at the 2022 European Badminton Championships, and represented Israel at the 2015 and 2019 European Games. Zilberman is the first Israeli player to win a medal at the European Badminton Championships. Early and personal life Zilberman was born in Moscow, Soviet Russia.
