Portland Timbers 2 is an American professional soccer team based in Portland, Oregon. The team, often referred to as "T2", serves as the reserve squad for the Portland Timbers of Major League Soccer (MLS). The team was a member of the USL Championship from 2015 to 2019, and was in the second tier of the United States soccer pyramid beginning in 2016. The organization withdrew from the 2021 USL Championship season so it could better transfer players to its parent club during the COVID-19 pandemic. History The Timbers announced the formation of their USL Pro team at a press conference on October 14, 2014. Jay Vidovich, long-time Wake Forest head coach and two-time NSCAA National Coach of the Year, was hired as T2's head coach on December 18, 2014. Timbers 2 held an open tryout in February 2015. FC Tulsa is an American professional soccer team based in Tulsa, Oklahoma which competes in the USL Championship, the second tier of the American soccer pyramid. History The club was founded as Tulsa Roughnecks FC by Jeff and Dale Hubbard, brothers and co-owners of the Tulsa Drillers minor league baseball franchise. Merlo Field at the Clive Charles Soccer Complex is a 4,892-capacity soccer-specific stadium in Portland, Oregon on the campus of the University of Portland where it serves as home to the school's soccer teams. From March 29, 2015 until the end of 2016, the stadium played host to the Portland Timbers' USL side Portland Timbers 2. History The stadium was constructed in 1990. Adrián Arturo Diz Pe (born 4 March 1994) is a Cuban professional footballer who plays as a defender for USL Championship club Indy Eleven. Club career A tall central defender, he played for local teams Las Tunas and Ciudad de la Habana. Roy Miller Hernández (born November 24, 1984) is a Costa Rican professional footballer who plays as a defender for Sporting San José. Career Club Miller began his career in the youth ranks of Cartaginés. In 2002, he went on trial with Argentine side Olimpo de Bahía Blanca, but was unable to acclimate himself to the club and returned to Costa Rica. Miller turned professional with Cartaginés before moving to the north of Norway at Bodø/Glimt along with his compatriot and teammate at Cartaginés, Randall Brenes. Foster Langsdorf (born December 14, 1995) is an American former professional soccer player. After a very successful collegiate career at Stanford, he played for several teams over the course of five seasons. Most of is appearances were for Portland Timbers 2; he made a total of four appearances for Portland Timbers and Minnesota United of Major League Soccer. Langsdorf would announce his retirement in 2021.
