The 2019 Phoenix Rising FC season was the club's sixth season in the USL Championship and their third as Rising FC. They are the defending Western Conference Champions. Phoenix Rising Football Club is an American professional Association football, soccer team based in Phoenix, Arizona. Founded in 2014 as Arizona United Soccer Club, the team is a member of the USL Championship. History On March 13, 2014, Kyle Eng, owner of an advertising agency, launched the franchise and named it Arizona United SC. It took the place of Phoenix FC, which folded the previous day, in the USL Pro league. 2014 season In just 178 days after the franchise was awarded by the USL Pro, Arizona United hired a front office staff and coach, put together a roster, secured a stadium, played 28 regular season games, reached the fourth round of the US Open Cup and was in contention for a playoff spot until the next-to-last week of the season. Phoenix Rising Soccer Complex
Casino Arizona Field, formerly known as Phoenix Rising Soccer Complex, was a 15.8-acre soccer-specific training and stadium facility located in the Salt River Pima–Maricopa Indian Community near Tempe, Arizona. It was the home of Phoenix Rising FC of the USL Championship from 2017-2020. The complex had a 6,200-seat modular stadium with luxury suites, separate training field, and parking area and was privately funded. History The first game at the complex was held on March 25, 2017, when Rising FC hosted Toronto FC II in front of a crowd of 6,890 fans. They won their first game at the stadium on April 8 by defeating LA Galaxy II 2–1. Luke Rooney scored both goals, the first one on a penalty kick. Tyler Freeman (soccer)
Tyler Freeman (born January 9, 2003) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a forward for Nashville SC in the Major League Soccer. Club career Born in Overland Park, Kansas, Freeman joined the Sporting Kansas City youth academy in 2014. During his time with the academy, Freeman progressed through the club ranks, playing with the under-12s through to the under-19s. On October 8, 2018, after scoring 17 goals for the under-17s, Freeman signed a professional homegrown player deal with Sporting Kansas City ahead of the 2019 season. Graham Jonathan Zusi (; born August 18, 1986) is an American professional soccer player who currently plays as a midfielder or defender for Major League Soccer club Sporting Kansas City. Kevon Lambert (born 22 March 1997) is a Jamaican professional footballer who plays as a defender and midfielder for USL Championship club Phoenix Rising FC and the Jamaica national team. Lamar Neagle
Lamar Neagle (born May 7, 1987) is an American professional soccer player who plays for the Tacoma Stars in the Major Arena Soccer League. He has spent most of his career with the Seattle Sounders FC of Major League Soccer over the course of several stints; Neagle has also played for Montreal Impact and D.C. United in Major League Soccer, as well as Mariehamn in Finland. Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium
Kino Sports Complex is a multiple-use sports complex in Tucson, Arizona. The Arizona Diamondbacks and Chicago White Sox formerly utilized the complex's main ballpark, Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium, for Cactus League games each March and had their minor league complexes on-site. The ballpark was also home to the Tucson Sidewinders of the Pacific Coast League for the team's last decade in Tucson, running from the stadium's 1998 opening season to the 2008 season. The ballpark was a temporary home (2011–2013) to the Tucson Padres (formerly the Portland Beavers) of the Pacific Coast League during the team's relocation to El Paso, Texas.
