2019 Oregon Ducks Football Season
The 2019 Oregon Ducks football team represented the University of Oregon during the 2019 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The team was led by second-year head coach Mario Cristobal. Oregon played their home games at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Oregon. The Ducks competed as members of the North Division of the Pac-12 Conference. Oregon started the year with a neutral-site game against Auburn in Arlington, Texas, where they lost, 27–21. The Ducks won their next nine games before being upset on the road by Arizona State, effectively knocking them out of contention for the College Football Playoff. Mario Cristobal
Mario Manuel Cristobal (born September 24, 1970) is head football coach of the Miami Hurricanes football team at the University of Miami. Cristobal previously was the head football coach at Florida International University (FIU) from 2007 to 2012 and the University of Oregon from 2017 to 2021. He was an all-conference offensive tackle on the Miami Hurricanes football team that won College football national championships in NCAA Division I FBS, national championships in 1989 and 1991. Mario is the first Cuban-American Head Coach in NCAA Division I college football history. 2019 Pac-12 Championship Game
The 2019 Pac-12 Football Championship Game was a college football game played on Friday, December 6, 2019, at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, to determine the 2019 champion of the Pac-12 Conference. The game featured the North division champions Oregon and the South division champions Utah, and was the conference's ninth championship game. This game was the last to be held at Levi's Stadium before the game moves to Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas starting in 2020. Doak Walker Award
Since 1990 the Doak Walker Award honors the top running back in college football in the United States. It is named in honor of Doak Walker, a former running back who played for the SMU Mustangs from 1945 to 1949 and in the National Football League for the Detroit Lions from 1950 to 1955. Davey O'Brien Award
The Davey O'Brien Award, officially the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award, named after Davey O'Brien, is presented annually to the collegiate American football player judged by the Davey O'Brien Foundation to be the best of all National Collegiate Athletic Association quarterbacks. The Davey O'Brien Hall of Fame is housed at The Fort Worth Club in Fort Worth, Texas. The annual awards dinner and trophy presentation is held there as well, usually in February. The Maxwell Award is presented annually to the college football player judged by a panel of sportscasters, sportswriters, and National Collegiate Athletic Association head coaches and the membership of the Maxwell Football Club to be the best all-around in the United States. The Lott IMPACT Trophy is presented annually to the college football defensive IMPACT player of the year. Troy Dye
Troy Dye (born September 18, 1996) is an American football linebacker for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Oregon. Early years Dye attended Norco High School in Norco, California where he would play safety. By his senior year he had 105 tackles and four interceptions. He committed to the University of Oregon to play college football. College career Dye was a four-year starter at Oregon. As a freshman in 2016 he started nine of 11 games, finishing with a team-high 92 tackles, 6.5 sacks and one interception. As a sophomore in 2017, he started all 13 games and again led the team in tackles with 107 and had four sacks and one interception. Outland Trophy
The Outland Trophy is awarded to the best college football interior lineman in the United States as adjudged by the Football Writers Association of America. It is named after John H. Outland. One of only a few players ever to be named an All-American at two positions, Outland garnered consensus All-America honors in 1898 as a tackle and consensus honors as a halfback in 1899. Outland had always contended that football tackles and guards deserved greater recognition and conceived the Outland Trophy as a means of providing this recognition.
