2019 North Carolina Courage Season
The 2019 North Carolina Courage season is the team's third season as a professional women's soccer team. North Carolina Courage plays in the National Women's Soccer League, the top tier of women's soccer in the United States. On September 21, the Courage clinched their third consecutive NWSL Shield, Shield with a 3–0 victory over the Utah Royals FC, Utah Royals. On October 27, the Courage defeated the Chicago Red Stars 4–0 to win their second consecutive NWSL Championship. North Carolina Courage
The North Carolina Courage is a professional women's soccer team based in Cary, North Carolina. It was founded on January 9, 2017, after Stephen Malik acquired National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) franchise rights from the Western New York Flash. The Courage is affiliated with the men's team North Carolina FC of the United Soccer League and plays its home games at the Sahlen’s Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park. In 2018, the Courage became the first team in NWSL history to win the Shield and the Championship in the same season. In 2019, the team became the first team to win the Championship on its home field. Utah Royals FC was an American women's professional soccer club based in the Salt Lake City suburb of Sandy, Utah. Established on November 16, 2017, as an expansion club, the Royals played in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) from 2018 to 2020. Abigail Lynn Dahlkemper (born May 13, 1993) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a defender for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) and the United States national team. Leah Pruitt (born September 5, 1997) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a forward for Orlando Pride of the National Women's Soccer League. Early life Growing up in Rancho Cucamonga, California, Pruitt was a four-year varsity player at Alta Loma High School, breaking the school record for goals in a single season in 2015 with 41 and was a three-time all-league honoree. Débora Cristiane de Oliveira (born 20 October 1991), known as Debinha Miri or simply Debinha, is a Brazilian professional football forward who plays for the Kansas City Current in the National Women's Soccer League and the Brazil women's national football team.
