2019 National Camogie League
The 2019 National Camogie League, known for sponsorship reasons as the Shop Direct, Littlewoods Ireland Camogie Leagues, took place in early 2019. Galway won Division 1, defeating Kilkenny in the final. Format League structure The 2019 National Camogie League consists of three divisions: 10 in Division 1, 15 in Division 2 and 6 in Division 3; division 1 is divided into two groups and Division 2 is divided into three groups. Each team plays every other team in its group once. 3 points are awarded for a win and 1 for a draw. If two teams are level on points, the tie-break is: * winners of the head-to-head game are ranked ahead * if the head-to-head match was a draw, ranking is determined by the points difference (i.e. total scored minus total conceded in all games) * if the points difference is equal, ranking is determined by the total scored If three or more teams are level on league points, rankings are determined solely by points difference. Sarah Dervan
Sarah Dervan (born 1988) is a camogie player, All-Ireland winning medalist 2013, 2019 and 2021. She was also a member of the Galway senior panel that unsuccessfully contested the All Ireland finals of 2010 and 2011 against Wexford. St Brendan's Park
St Brendan's Park () is a GAA stadium in Birr, County Offaly, Ireland. It is one of the main grounds of Offaly's Gaelic football and hurling teams. The ground has a capacity of 8,800. Prior to the development of O'Connor Park in Tullamore, the ground was the base of Offaly hurling and played host to intercounty competitions and to the Offaly hurling county final. Most Offaly games have since transferred to Tullamore. Saint Brendan's Park is the home ground of the town’s GAA club. It is located on the south side of the town on Railway Road. The site was also the venue of the 1971 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship semi-final between Tipperary and Galway. 15,022 crammed into the venue to watch Tipperary see off Galway in a high scoring match. In various sports, a forfeit is a method in which a match automatically ends, and the forfeiting team loses. There are two distinct forms of forfeiture. One occurs when a team is unable (or refuses) to meet the basic standards for playing the game, either before the game begins or as a result of actions that happen during the match. In such a case, the team not forfeiting wins the match.
