North American, Central American And Caribbean Athletic Association
The North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletic Association (NACAC) is the continental confederation governing body of athletics for national governing bodies and multi-national federations within Northern America, Central America, and the Caribbean. NACAC is one of six area associations of World Athletics (WA), previously named the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). NACAC was founded on December 10, 1988, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Presidents Amadeo Francis of Puerto Rico was elected as the first president of the association. He was re-elected in 1999 and 2003. In 2007 Neville "Teddy" McCook (Jamaica) was elected as new president and was re-elected in 2011. Jessica O'Connell (born 10 February 1989 in Calgary) is a Canadian athlete competing primarily in long-distance events. Tonya Nero (born 27 November 1988) is a Trinidad and Tobago long-distance runner. She holds national records in the 5k, 10k, half marathon, and marathon. She competed at the 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018 editions of the World Half Marathon Championships. Her best finish was 27th at the 2012 edition in Kavarna, Bulgaria, when she set the Trinidad & Tobago national record with a time of 1:15:13. In 2019, she competed in the women's 10,000 metres at the Pan American Games held in Lima, Peru. She finished in 10th place with a time of 34:15.36. Brenda Eunice Flores Muñoz (born 4 September 1991) is a Mexican long-distance runner. She was a double gold medallist for Mexico at the 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games and a silver medallist at the 2015 Pan American Games. Grayson Murphy (born June 28, 1995) is an American mountain runner. Representing the United States, she is a two-time world champion in mountain running and trail running, as well as a four-time US national champion in mountain running and vertical kilometer. At the University of Utah, Murphy competed in cross-country and track and field and was a five-time All-American. Early life and education While a student at West High School (Utah), Murphy never competed on any of her school's running teams. She instead was focused on soccer, and began her college athletic career as a member of the NCAA Division III soccer team at Sweet Briar College. Natasha Wodak (divorced Fraser, born 17 December 1981) is a Canadian long-distance runner. She competed in the 10,000 metres at the 2015 World Championships in Athletics in Beijing, China, placing 23rd. Wodak formerly held the Canadian 10,000m record.
