2019 Mosconi Cup
The 2019 Mosconi Cup (also known as Mosconi Cup XXVI) was a team nine-ball tournament. The event is the 26th Mosconi Cup event, first held in 1994. The competition features matches between teams of five representing Europe and the United States. The event was held at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas, United States from 25 to 28 November 2019. The event is based on the similar Ryder Cup series of events held in golf. The USA team were defending champions, having won the 2018 event 11–9. Despite trailing 2–3 after the first day, the USA team took a 8–7 lead on day three, and eventually won 11–8. Skyler Woodward won the Most Valuable Player award for the second time, having also done so the year prior. Mandalay Bay
Mandalay Bay is a 43-story luxury resort and casino at the south end of the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. It is owned by Vici Properties and The Blackstone Group and operated by MGM Resorts International. It was developed by Circus Circus Enterprises and completed at a cost of $950 million. It opened on March 2, 1999, on the former site of the Hacienda hotel-casino. MGM acquired Mandalay Bay in 2005, and Blackstone became a co-owner in 2020. Vici acquired MGM's ownership stake in 2022. Billy Thorpe (pool Player)
William Richard Thorpe AM (29 March 1946 – 28 February 2007) was an English-born Australian singer-songwriter, and record producer. As lead singer of his band Billy Thorpe & the Aztecs, he had success in the 1960s with "Blue Day", " Poison Ivy", " Over the Rainbow", "Sick and Tired", " Baby, Hold Me Close" and "Mashed Potato"; and in the 1970s with "Most People I Know Think That I'm Crazy". NOTE: Used for Australian Singles and Albums charting from 1970 until ARIA created their own charts in mid-1988. Niels Feijen
Niels Feijen (born 3 February 1977, The Hague) is a Dutch professional pool player, from the Hague. His nickname is "the Terminator". In 2014 he won the WPA World 9-ball championship. Career In 2001, Feijen reached the finals of a nine-ball tournament in Tokyo, Japan. The event had a field of more than 700 players and offered the largest prize money at that time. However, he lost to Efren Reyes. In 2004, he won the inaugural Skins Billiards Championship with prize money of US$42,500. Feijen has won the European straight pool championship five times. In 2005 he was the winner of the Big Apple Nine-ball Championship, held in Queens, New York, an event with 128 of the world's best players. Jayson Shaw (born 13 September 1990 in Glasgow) is a Scottish pool player. In 2010, Shaw was a WPA World Blackball Champion. In 2016, Shaw won the 25th International Challenge of Champions event. Alexander Kazakis
Alexander Kazakis (Born July 16, 1991) is a Greek professional pool player. Kazakis is a former European 10-ball champion, and regular 9-ball player. In 2018, he was the number one ranked player by the World Pool-Billiard Association. Career In 2016, Kazakis won the Kremlin Cup, without losing a game. Kazakis reached the semi-final of the 2018 WPA World Nine-ball Championship; before losing to eventual winner Joshua Filler on a final frame decider. Eklent Kaçi (born January 29, 1999), also known as Klenti Kaçi is an Albanian professional pool and amateur snooker player. Kaçi won the WPA World Ten-ball Championship in 2021 and 2023 and reached the semi-finals of the 2017 WPA World Nine-ball Championship. He has been the top-ranked played in the world of 9-ball pool. Career Kaçi started playing pool at the age of eight. He has won the Albanian Snooker championships in addition to national pool championships, even though he never played snooker prior to his Federation asking him to join the event. Joshua Filler
Joshua Filler (born 2 October 1997) is a German pool player from Bönen, Germany. In 2018 Filler defeated Carlo Biado 13–10 to win the 2018 WPA World Nine-ball Championship. The same year he was the youngest player to win the China Open and 2018 10-ball European Pool Championships. Filler became WPA and Euro Tour world number 1 in 2019, and later reached the final of the 2019 WPA World Ten-ball Championship before losing 10–7 to Ko Ping-chung. Flag Of Europe
The Flag of Europe or European Flag consists of twelve golden stars forming a circle on a blue field. It was designed and adopted in 1955 by the Council of Europe (CoE) as a symbol for the whole of Europe.
