2019 Military Bowl
The 2019 Military Bowl was a college football bowl game that was played on December 27, 2019, with kickoff at 12:00 p.m. EST on ESPN. It was the 12th edition of the Military Bowl, and was one of the 2019–20 bowl games concluding the 2019 FBS football season. Sponsored by defense contractor Northrop Grumman, the game was officially known as the Military Bowl presented by Northrop Grumman. Teams The game was played between the North Carolina Tar Heels from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and the Temple Owls from the American Athletic Conference (The American). Navy–Marine Corps Memorial Stadium
Navy–Marine Corps Memorial Stadium is an open-air stadium located off the campus of the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. Opened in 1959, it serves as the home stadium of the Navy Midshipmen college football and lacrosse teams, and was the home of the Chesapeake Bayhawks of Major League Lacrosse. The stadium is also the host of the Military Bowl. The stadium's opener was a 29–2 win over William & Mary on September 26, 1959, and its current seating capacity is 34,000. The attendance record is 38,792, set in 2017 during Navy's 48–45 defeat of Air Force on Prior to 1959, Navy played its home games at Thompson Stadium, which seated only 12,000. Dyami Brown ( ; born November 1, 1999) is an American football wide receiver for the Washington Commanders of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at North Carolina, where he recorded consecutive 1,000 yard seasons in 2019 and 2020 before being drafted by Washington in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Early life and high school Brown grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, and attended West Mecklenburg High School. As a junior, Brown had 999 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns with five interceptions on defense. 2019 Cincinnati Bearcats Football Team
The 2019 Cincinnati Bearcats football team represented the University of Cincinnati in the 2019 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Bearcats played their home games at Nippert Stadium, and competed as members of the East Division in the American Athletic Conference. They were led by third-year head coach Luke Fickell. The 2019 SMU Mustangs football team represented Southern Methodist University during the 2019 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Mustangs were led by second-year head coach Sonny Dykes and played their home games at Gerald J. Ford Stadium in University Park, Texas, a separate city within the city limits of Dallas. The 2019 Memphis Tigers football team represented the University of Memphis in the 2019 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Tigers played their home games at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium in Memphis, Tennessee, and competed in the West Division of the American Athletic Conference. They were led by fourth-year head coach Mike Norvell through the team's win in the American Championship Game, after which he left to fill the head coaching vacancy at Florida State. The Temple Owls football team represents Temple University in the sport of college football. The Temple Owls compete in the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision as a member of the American Athletic Conference (The American). They play their home games at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Owls were a football-only member of the Big East Conference from 1991 until 2004. Temple was expelled from the league due to a lack of commitment to the football program from university officials.
