2019 Meath Senior Football Championship
The 2019 Meath Senior Football Championship is the 127th edition of the Meath GAA, Meath GAA's premier club Gaelic football tournament for senior clubs in County Meath, Ireland. 18 teams compete, with the winner representing Meath in the Leinster Senior Club Football Championship. The championship starts with a group stage and then progresses to a knock out stage. St. Peter's Dunboyne were the defending champions after they defeated Summerhill in the 2018 final to claim their third S.F.C. crown. However, the defence of their title was disappointing, failing to proceed past the group stages. This was Longwood's return to the top flight for the first time in 76 years after claiming the 2018 Meath Intermediate Football Championship. Longwood last won the I.F.C. in 1942 and after spending one season in the senior grade in 1943, they were regraded to the J.F.C. for 1944. Meath Senior Football Championship
The Meath Senior Football Championship is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association club competition between the top Gaelic football clubs in Meath, Ireland. Qualification for subsequent competitions The winners of the Meath Senior Football Championship winners qualify to represent their county in the Leinster Senior Club Football Championship and in turn, go on to the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship. Competition format From 2020, 16 teams compete in the championship, with four groups of four teams. The top two finishers in each group qualify for the quarter-finals. The bottom two teams in each group progress to the relegation playoffs. The overall loser in the relegation playoffs gets relegated to the Intermediate Division. The 2019 Meath Intermediate Football Championship is the 93rd edition of the Meath GAA's premier club Gaelic football tournament for Intermediate graded teams in County Meath, Ireland. The tournament consists of 18 teams, with the winner going on to represent Meath in the Leinster Intermediate Club Football Championship. The championship starts with a group stage and then progresses to a knock out stage. Longwood (who in 2019 will compete at senior level) were the previous years champions after they defeated Ballinlough in the 2018 decider. Blackhall Gaels return to the I.F.C. for the first time since 2001, after suffering relegation from the S.F.C. in 2018. Their 17 year tenure in the top-flight brought a Keegan Cup triumph to the club in 2003. St. Peter's Dunboyne 'B's were promoted to the middle grade after claiming the J.F.C. crown in 2018 with an extra-time final victory over St. Vincent's. Anthony Moyles
Anthony Moyles (born 16 November 1976) is an Irish Gaelic football coach and former player who currently manages Dunsaughlin in the Meath Senior Football Championship. Moyles originally played for local club St Pauls in the Junior Championship and was on a team that earned promotion to the Intermediate division. In 2002 he transferred to Blackhall Gaels with whom he won his first Meath , Senior Championship title in 2003. Between late 2008 and early 2009 Moyles moved to St Oliver Plunketts/Eoghan Ruadh, a top level team in Dublin. Meath Moyles has been a member of the Meath panel since 2000. He was named as the captain for 2007 which turned to a successful year for him and his panel. He played as a back for Meath in the controversial 2010 Leinster Senior Football Championship Final against Louth, which Meath won by two points giving Moyles his first Leinster title. Dunshaughlin ( or locally ) is a town in County Meath, Ireland. A commuter town for nearby Dublin, Dunshaughlin more than tripled in population (from 1,275 to 4,035 inhabitants) between the 1991 and 2016 censuses. Dunshaughlin ( Irish: ''Domhnach Seachnaill'') is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the town of Dunshaughlin, in County Meath, Ireland. The club competes at intermediate level in the Football championship. Formed in 1886, it is one of the oldest still-active clubs in Meath. Ashbourne, historically called ''Killeglan'' or ''Kildeglan'' (), is a town in County Meath, Ireland.
