2019 Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Softball Team
The 2019 Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns softball team represented the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in the 2019 NCAA Division I softball season. The Ragin' Cajuns played their home games at Yvette Girouard Field at Lamson Park and were led by second-year head coach Gerry Glasco. The Cajuns defeated Southeast Missouri State and Ole Miss early in the Oxford Regionals. They went on to the Championship Game but lost to Ole Miss 1-5, forcing the game 7. In game 7, the Cajuns rallied back from 0-3 by a three-run homerun by Raina O'Neal. They took the lead at 4-3 before losing to Ole Miss after the Rebels scored two runs late in the 7th inning. Gerry Glasco
Gerald Dean Glasco Jr. (born October 29, 1958) is an American college softball coach who is currently head coach at Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns softball, Louisiana and the Women's Professional Fastpitch team Smash It Sports Vipers. Previously, Glasco had been a high school softball coach, an assistant at Georgia Bulldogs softball, Georgia and Texas A&M Aggies softball, Texas A&M, and National Pro Fastpitch head coach with the USSSA Pride and Scrap Yard Dawgs. Early life and education Glasco was born in 1958 in Macomb, Illinois. He attended high school at Crab Orchard High School where he lettered in baseball and basketball. He attended college at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and earned a bachelor's degree in Agricultural Economics. Austin Peay Governors Softball
The Austin Peay Governors are the intercollegiate athletic teams of Austin Peay State University (APSU), located in Clarksville, Tennessee, United States. The Governors athletic program is a member of the ASUN Conference. Colonels Softball Complex
Swanner Field at Geo Surfaces Park is a softball venue in Thibodaux, Louisiana, United States. It is home to the Nicholls Colonels softball team of the NCAA Division I Southland Conference. The venue has a capacity of 500. History The park opened in 1981 was formerly named Colonels Softball Diamond and Colonels Softball Complex. Prior to the 2018 season, the park underwent major renovations. It included a new synthetic turf infield by Geo Surfaces, new lights and renovated dugouts and seating. The renovations were funded by donations from Neal Swanner and the Norman Swanner Foundation. In honor of those donations, the playing surface was named Swanner Field.
