2019 Leinster Senior Football Championship
The 2019 Leinster Senior Football Championship is the 2019 installment of the annual Leinster Senior Football Championship organised by Leinster GAA. Teams The Leinster championship was contested by 11 of the 12 county teams in Leinster, a province of Ireland. Kilkenny county football team, Kilkenny was the only county team not to compete. Championship draw The four teams who won the quarter-finals in the previous year were given Bye (sports), byes to this year's quarter-finals. Six of the seven remaining teams play-off in the first round with the seventh team also receiving a bye to the quarter-finals. Jim Gavin (footballer)
Jim Gavin (born 1 July 1971) is an Irish List of Gaelic football managers, Gaelic football manager and former Gaelic football, player. He was the manager of the senior Dublin county football team, Dublin county team from 2012 to 2019, becoming the county's most successful manager in terms of major titles won. Gavin is regarded as one of the best Manager (Gaelic games), managers in the modern game. Gavin was introduced to Gaelic football by his father, a native of County Clare, Clare and former chairman of the local club team in Clondalkin. He developed his skills in the local street leagues before winning a record six Cumann na mBunscoil medals as a dual player with Clonburris National School. Longford County Football Team
The Longford county football team represents Longford in men's Gaelic football and is governed by Longford GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. The team competes in the three major annual inter-county competitions; the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Leinster Senior Football Championship and the National Football League. Longford's home ground is Pearse Park, Longford. The team's manager is Paddy Christie. The team last won the Leinster Senior Championship in 1968 and the National League in 1966. The 2003 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 117th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter county, inter-county Gaelic football tournament. The championship began on 4 May 2003 and ended on 28 September 2003. Armagh GAA, Armagh entered the championship as the 2002 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, defending champions. On 28 September 2003, Tyrone GAA, Tyrone won the championship following a 0-12 to 0-9 defeat of Armagh in the All-Ireland final. This was their first All-Ireland title. Stephen Attride
Stephen Attride (born 1993) is a Gaelic footballer who has played for the Killeshin club and the Laois county team, serving as captain of his county for the 2017, 2018 and 2019 seasons. Attride was primarily interested in athletics from a young age, specifically middle-/long-distance running, at which he competed both nationally and internationally. However, while in his last year at school, he developed shin splints and this affected his future progress in athletics. He attended Dublin City University (DCU), where he played for the university football team. Age given as 24 in July 2018. Initially playing at wing-forward, Attride developed into a corner-back. John Sugrue
John Sugrue is a Gaelic games coach and manager. He has been in charge of the Laois county football team, the Kerry under-20 football team and is currently involved with the Laois county hurling team as a physio. Sugrue is from Renard, County Kerry. Laois appointed Sugrue football manager in 2017. As Laois football manager, Sugrue achieved consecutive promotions from Division Four to Division Two of the National Football League, brought the team to the 2018 Leinster Senior Football Championship final and to round four of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship qualifiers in 2018 and 2019. He unexpectedly resigned in July 2019. Sugrue succeeded Jack O'Connor as manager of the Kerry under-20 football team in October 2019. 2000 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship
The 2000 Bank of Ireland All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 114th edition of the GAA's premier Gaelic football competition. The championship began on 7 May 2000 and ended on 7 October 2000. Meath entered the championship as the defending champions; however, they were beaten by Offaly in the Leinster quarter-final. On 24 September 2000, the All-Ireland final between Kerry and Galway ended in a draw, 0-14 apiece. Kerry won the replay two weeks later by 0–17 to 1-10, thus claiming their 32nd All-Ireland title. This was the final year that the provincial knockout format was used, before the qualifier system was introduced in 2001. Cian O'Neill
Dr Cian O'Neill is an Irish former Gaelic footballer who has since been a Gaelic games coach (physical trainer), selector and manager with various county teams. He has been attached to the Galway county football team, under Pádraic Joyce, since 2021. O'Neill trained the Tipperary county hurling team that won the 2010 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship. After involvement with the Mayo and Kerry county football teams, he served as manager of the Kildare county football team for several years. Career O'Neill is originally from Newbridge, County Kildare. He played football for Kildare GAA club Moorefield but his career was cut short by serious back injury.
