2019 Korean Series
The 2019 Korean Series is the championship series of the 2019 KBO League season. The Doosan Bears, as the regular season champions, automatically advanced to the Korean Series, where they faced the Kiwoom Heroes. The series ran from October 22 to October 26. The Bears swept the Heroes in four games to win the title. Background The Doosan Bears won the 2015 and 2016 Korean Series. They lost the 2017 Korean Series to the Kia Tigers. and the 2018 Korean Series to the SK Wyverns. The team won the pennant race to advance directly to the Korean Series in dramatic fashion. Doosan Bears
The Doosan Bears ( ko, 두산 베어스) are a South Korean professional baseball team based in Seoul. Founded in 1982, they are a member of the KBO League. The Bears have won six Korean Series titles (1982, 1995, 2001, 2015, 2016, and 2019) and play their home games at Seoul's Jamsil Baseball Stadium. NC Dinos
The NC Dinos ( ko, NC 다이노스) are a South Korean professional baseball team based in Changwon. They are a member of the KBO League. Since 2019, their home stadium is Changwon NC Park. NC Dinos are owned by video game developer NCSoft Corporation. History On 1 July 2010, the cities of Changwon, Masan and Jinhae were integrated into one city, Changwon. As a result of the integration, Changwon became the eleventh largest city in South Korea. Afterward, Changwon drove forward the project, which attracted a baseball team in the city. On 22 December 2010, video game company NCSoft submitted a plan that it wanted to found a baseball team that would be later admitted to the Korea Baseball Organization as a member franchise. The 2019 World Series was the championship series of Major League Baseball's (MLB) 2019 season. The 115th edition of the World Series, it was a best-of-seven playoff between the American League champion Houston Astros and the National League champion Washington Nationals. Jamsil Baseball Stadium () is a baseball stadium located at 25 Olympic-ro, Songpa-gu, Seoul, South Korea. The stadium holds 25,000 people and was built from April 1980 to July 1982. SK Wyverns
SSG Landers () are a South Korean professional baseball team. The team was originally established as the SK Wyverns but was renamed as the SSG Landers in 2021 after Shinsegae acquired the team from SK Group. They are a member of the KBO League. Based in Incheon, they play their home games at Incheon SSG Landers Field. History 2000: Formation (SK Wyverns) In the 2000 season, the Ssangbangwool Raiders, a team that had represented the Jeollabuk-do region since 1990, was dissolved because of the bankruptcy of the Ssangbangwool Group, the team's owner. Kim Tae-hyoung
Kim Tae-hyoung (Korean: 김태형; born September 12, 1967) is a South Korean professional baseball manager and former player. As manager of the Doosan Bears, he led the team into seven consecutive Korean Series appearances between 2015 and 2021, and won the championship on three occasions. Kim played as catcher for the fourth-placed South Korean national team in the 1988 Summer Olympics. He spent twelve seasons in the KBO League, from 1990 to 2001, all for the Bears. After his retirement, he stayed on as a coach for the Bears for an additional eleven seasons. After three seasons coaching the SK Wyverns, Kim was brought back to the Bears, this time as the team's manager, in 2015.
