2019 Inter-Provincial Trophy
The 2019 Inter-Provincial Trophy was the seventh edition of the Inter-Provincial Trophy, a Twenty20 cricket competition played in Ireland. It was held from 22 June to 18 August 2019. It was the third edition of the competition to be played with full Twenty20 status. The competition was split into two halves, each branded as a T20 Festival. The first half was played in June, and the second half was played in August. Leinster Lightning were the defending champions. Following the conclusion of the June festival, Northern Knights had won all three of their matches, however, two matches were abandoned due to rain. All of the matches in the August festival were abandoned due to rain, with no play taking place across all three days. As a result, the Northern Knights won the tournament. Cricket Ireland, officially the Irish Cricket Union, is the national governing body for cricket on the island of Ireland (both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland), and oversees the national men's and women's cricket teams. Alan James Neill (born 10 June 1956) is a Northern Irish cricket umpire. Neill serves as a member of the ICC Associate and Affiliate Panel of Umpires representing Ireland. Neill stood in matches during the 2016 ICC World Cricket League Division Five tournament in Jersey in May 2016, including the final between Jersey and Oman. On 12 July 2016 he stood in his first One Day International (ODI) match, between Ireland and Afghanistan. On 5 September 2016 he stood in his first Twenty20 International match, between Ireland and Hong Kong. James Cameron-Dow (born 18 May 1990) is an Irish cricketer. He made his international debut for the Ireland cricket team in March 2019. Andrew Balbirnie (born 28 December 1990) is an Irish cricketer, the current captain of the Ireland cricket team in all formats. Balbirnie is a right-handed batsman and an occasional wicket-keeper. Mary Veronica Waldron (born 5 May 1984) is an Irish association football player and cricketer who has represented both the Republic of Ireland women's national football team and the Ireland women's cricket team. She has also stood as an umpire in cricket matches. Football Club career Waldron was nominated for the FAI Under–18 Women Player of the Year in 2001 and 2002, while playing for St James's Gate. Max Christian Sorensen (born 18 November 1985) is an Irish former international cricketer of South African origin, who played for the Irish national team. Born in Johannesburg, Sorensen is a right-handed batsman who bowls right-arm fast-medium. He has played for The Hills Cricket Club in Dublin since 2007.
