UEFA Euro 2020 Qualifying Group I
Group I of UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying was one of the ten groups to decide which teams would qualify for the UEFA Euro 2020 finals tournament. Group I consisted of six teams: Belgium, Cyprus, Kazakhstan, Russia, San Marino and Scotland, where they played against each other home-and-away in a round-robin format. The top two teams, Belgium and Russia, qualified directly for the finals. Unlike previous editions, the participants of the play-offs were not decided based on results from the qualifying group stage, but instead based on their performance in the 2018–19 UEFA Nations League. Belgium won all ten of their matches, becoming the seventh national side to qualify for a European Championship with a 100% record, and the eighth instance, after France ( 1992 and 2004), Czech Republic (2000), Germany, Spain ( both 2012), England (2016) and Italy (2020). Serikbolsyn Abdildauly Abdildin ( kk, Серікболсын Әбділдаұлы Әбділдин, ''Serikbolsyn Ábdildauly Ábdildın''; 25 November 1937 – 31 December 2019) was a Kazakh economist, politician, First Secretary of the Communist Party from 1996 to 2010, member of the Mazhilis from 1999 to 2004 and a candidate in the 1999 presidential election. He is often described as "patriarch" for the formation of parliamentarism and the first-drafted Kazakh Constitution in early years of independence. While proclaiming himself as a Communist, Abdildin was vivid supporter for democracy and has called for reforms for a multi-party system with a rule of law. Äbdildin began his career as an agriculturist until becoming involved in politics from serving in Soviet state bodies in Kazakhstan to eventually becoming the head of the Supreme Soviet of the Kazakh SSR where he was involved in the drafting of the new post-independent Constitution. Astana Arena
The Astana Arena ( kk, Астана Арена) is a football stadium in Astana, Kazakhstan. The stadium holds 30,000 and has a retractable roof. It serves as the national stadium for the Kazakhstan national football team. Astana Arena is the largest stadium in the country and it was built from 2006 to 2009 at a cost of $185 million, and was officially opened on 3 July 2009. It is also a home ground for FC Astana of the Kazakhstan Premier League and FC Bayterek of the Kazakhstan First Division.
