2019 Pan American Games
The 2019 Pan American Games ( es, Juegos Panamericanos de 2019, links=no), officially the XVIII Pan American Games and commonly known as the Lima 2019 Pan-Am Games or Lima 2019 ( qu, Limaq 2019), were a multi-sport event governed by the Panam Sports Organization, were held in Lima, Peru from July 26 to August 11, 2019, with preliminary rounds in certain events having begun on July 24, 2019. These were the first Pan American Games to be held in Peru, and the seventh to be held in South America. The opening ceremony took place on July 26 at the National Stadium, and the Games were declared open by former Peruvian President Martín Vizcarra. These Pan American Games were held at venues in and around Lima, and are the largest sporting event ever hosted by the country. Unified Syndical Confederation Of Rural Workers Of Bolivia
The Unified (or Sole) Syndical Confederation of Rural Workers of Bolivia (, CSUTCB) is the largest union of peasants in Bolivia. The CSUTCB was formed in 1979 in opposition to government-sponsored peasant unions, and immediately replaced the National Confederation of Peasant Workers of Bolivia. Under the leadership of the Tupaj Katari Revolutionary Movement, the CSUTCB became an independent organization. The CSUTCB became involved in the Central Obrera Boliviana labor federation and (because of the decline of the miners' federation) became a leading force in the COB. Through the CSUTCB's pressure, the COB moved beyond a purely class-based focus to address indigenous demands, as well. During the 1990s the CSUTCB moved beyond its support base of Aymara-speaking indigenous people, bringing Guaraní- and Quechua-speaking indigenous into its ranks. Jenaro Flores Santos
Jenaro Flores Santos (September 19, 1942 – August 25, 2019) often Genaro Flores Santos, was a Bolivian trade union leader and politician. Flores Santos was the founder of the Unique Confederation of Rural Laborers of Bolivia, Confederación Sindical Única de Trabajadores Campesinos de Bolivia, or CSUTCB. He also played a prominent role in formulating ''katarismo'' as a distinct trend in the social and political struggles in Bolivia. Flores Santos was born in Antipampa, Collana Municipality, Aroma Province, La Paz Department (Bolivia), La Paz Department, and did his military service in the Waldo Ballivián Regiment in 1965. During his military service he witnessed the suppression of the popular militias (created after the 1952 revolution), an event that impacted his political orientation. Mario Baudoin
Mario Jorge Baudoin Weeks (September 4, 1942 – May 18, 2019) was a Bolivian biologist and conservationist known for his research in Bolivia and Costa Rica. He was the first director of Bolivia's national park system, and served as director of several academic and government institutes, including the , the Institute of Ecology at Higher University of San Andrés, Dirección Nacional Conservación de Biodiversidad (DNCB) and the La Selva Biological Station in Costa Rica. In the early 1990s he was involved in the creation of the (SERNAP), which led to the 1995 establishment of Madidi National Park. He received the 2008 Distinguished Services Award from the Society for Conservation Biology. Born in Sucre, Baudoin received his education in the United States, earning a B.Sc. at the City College of New York in 1967 followed by a master's (1969) and Ph.D. (1976) from the University of Michigan. Mario Monje Molina (29 March 1929 – 15 January 2019) was a Bolivian politician, founder Secretary-General of the Communist Party of Bolivia ''(Partido Comunista Boliviano, PCB)''. When the party split into a pro-Soviet and a pro-Beijing wing in 1964, he became the leader of the pro-Soviet wing.
