Winterberg Bobsleigh, Luge, And Skeleton Track
The Winterberg bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton track is a bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton track located in Winterberg, Germany. It is the only track of its kind in the world with a turn that has corporate sponsorship with turn seven being sponsored by Veltins, a German brewery which has its headquarters located in neighboring Meschede. History Completed in 1977, the track underwent a redesign of its start house area where the women's luge start house was moved from before turn four to near the men's luge start house prior to turn one in 2006. Sascha Benecken (born 14 February 1990) is a German luger who has competed since 1999. With his doubles partner Toni Eggert he has been world champion ten times and won the overall World Cup six times. Early life His father was part of East Germany's junior national team in the Nordic. As a result, he took part in a play and sports group as early as kindergarten, from which he then switched to handball and in 1999, after a sighting in physical education, to luge. In February 2003, Sascha Benecken moved to the sports high school in Oberhof and to the boarding school there . Felix Loch (; born 24 July 1989) is a German luger and Olympic champion. He has been competing since 1995 and on the German national team since 2006. He has won fourteen medals at the FIL World Luge Championships with twelve golds (Men's singles: 2008, 2009, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016; Men's sprint 2016: Mixed team event: 2008, 2009, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016) and two silvers (Men's singles: 2011, 2015). Loch's men's singles win in 2008 made him the youngest world champion ever at 18 years old. He is the youngest Olympic Gold Medalist in men's luge history.
