The 2019 Dubai 24 Hour was the 14th running of the Dubai 24 Hour. It was also the first round of both the 2019 24H GT Series and the 2019 24H TCE Series. The event was held on 11 to 13 January at the Dubai Autodrome, United Arab Emirates. Dubai 24 Hour
The Dubai 24 Hour Race is both a sports car and touring car automobile endurance race held annually at the Dubai Autodrome. It was inaugurated in 2006. Entrants and participants As with all races in the 24H Series, promoted by Dutch promoter Creventic, they are open to both professional and semi-professional teams. There are both local competitors from the UAE and surrounding nations in the Persian Gulf as well as a host of international teams particularly from European nations. Unlike the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France whereby teams are invited by the organizers to compete, the Dubai 24 Hour is solely made up of teams who have registered prior to the commencing of the actual race. Entrants must file in a registration application in order to have a chance at competing. Entry and registration fees also apply for competitors. Rolf Ineichen (born 2 May 1978) is a Swiss racing driver who currently competes in the GT World Challenge Europe and the ADAC GT Masters. Career Business ventures Ineichen serves on the board of directors at OTTO'S AG, a Swiss discount department store chain, as well as Proresa SA, a Swiss real estate corporation. Racing Ineichen began his professional racing career in 2009, competing in a one-off event for ARAXA Racing in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany. After a three year hiatus, he returned to compete with Stadler Motorsport at the Dubai 24 Hour, finishing sixth overall. Mercedes-AMG GT
The Mercedes-AMG GT (C190 / R190) is a grand tourer produced in coupé and roadster bodystyles by German automobile manufacturer Mercedes-AMG. The car was introduced on and was officially unveiled to the public in October 2014 at the Paris Motor Show. After the SLS AMG, it is the second sports car developed entirely in-house by Mercedes-AMG. The Mercedes-AMG GT went on sale in two variants (GT and GT S) in March 2015, while a GT3 racing variant of the car was introduced in 2015. A high performance variant called the GT R was introduced in 2016. A GT4 racing variant, targeted at semi-professional drivers and based on the GT R variant, was introduced in 2017. Indy Dontje (born 21 November 1992 in Alkmaar, North Holland) is a Dutch racing driver. After starting in ADAC Formel Masters and ATS Formel 3 Cup Dontje is now a Mercedes-Benz GT3 driver. Career Karting Father Arthur Dontje supported his sons Indy and Milan with their own karting team early in their careers. Arthurs chocolate company, Dobla, was the naming sponsor. Indy started racing in Rotax Max powered classes, such as MiniMax and Junior Max. After graduating into shifter karts, Dontje raced in the German Karting Championship in 2009 against other young hopefuls such as Jack Hawksworth and Hannes van Asseldonk. Later in his karting career, in 2010 and 2011, the young karter competed in the USA in the SKUSA SuperNationals. In 2010 Dontje finished third in the S1 class. Bernd Schneider (born 20 July 1964) is a German racing driver. He is a five-time Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters champion, and a Mercedes Brand Ambassador. Career Early years Schneider was named after legendary driver Bernd Rosemeyer, winner of the 1936 European Drivers' Championship. Introduced to karting at an early age, he displayed an obvious talent for racing. After several years in the junior kart series, Schneider won the 1980 German Kart championship. Two years later, he would win the 1982 European Kart championship with the national team. In 1983, he won the African kart championship. Ricardo Feller (born 1 June 2000) is a Swiss racing driver who currently competes in the ADAC GT Masters and GT World Challenge Europe. Career Early career Feller began karting in 2011, competing in the Supermini class of the Switzerland-based Bridgestone Cup. The following year, he expanded his karting program, taking second overall in the Supermini class of the 2012 Swiss Karting Championship. Stefan Mücke (born 22 November 1981) is a German professional racing driver. Racing career Born in Berlin, Mücke started his racing career in 1998, when he won the Formula BMW ADAC series, with his father's Mücke Motorsport team, also making their debut. He competed in German Formula Three for his father's team for the next three years, before moving to the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters for 2002. Mike David Ortmann (born 26 October 1999 in Brandenburg) is a German racing driver. Career Karting Ortmann began karting in 2010 at the age of eleven, competing in championships across Germany and taking titles in the championship at East Saxon State and the East German ADAC Kart Cup in 2012. Markus Winkelhock (born 13 June 1980) is a German professional racing driver. He is the son of Manfred Winkelhock and nephew of Joachim Winkelhock, both of whom were Formula One drivers in the 1980s. During his brief Formula One career he led the 2007 European Grand Prix for several laps before retiring with mechanical problems. History Single-seaters Mücke Motorsport was formed by Peter Mücke in 1998 to run his son Stefan Mücke in the German Formula BMW ADAC series, in which they were champions. Steijn Schothorst (born 14 October 1994) is a Dutch racing driver. His father Jeroen, his brother Pieter and his nephew Bas Schothorst are also active in Dutch motorsport.
