2019 CME Group Tour Championship
The 2019 CME Group Tour Championship was the ninth CME Group Tour Championship, a women's professional golf tournament and the season-ending event on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour. It was played at the Gold Course of Tiburón Golf Club in Naples, Florida. The CME Group Tour Championship marked the end of the season-long "Race to the CME Globe" in 2019. The event was televised by Golf Channel Thursday through Saturday on a 3-hour delay, and NBC Sunday live. Kim Sei-young won by one stroke over Charley Hull. Format Qualification Since 2014, the field has determined by a season-long points race, the "Race to the CME Globe". All players making the cut in a tournament earned points, with 500 points going to the winner. The five major championships had a higher points distribution, with 625 points to the winner. Ashleigh Ann Buhai ( née Simon, born 11 May 1989) is a South African professional golfer, who won the 2022 Women's Open, one of the major championships in women's golf. Amateur career Buhai had a successful amateur career. She was the youngest player to win the ladies’ South African Amateur Stroke Play and Match Play double. She represented her country in the mainly professional Women's World Cup of Golf three times while still an amateur. Professional career Buhai turned professional the day after her 18th birthday. Ariya Jutanugarn ( th, เอรียา จุฑานุกาล, , ; born 23 November 1995) is a Thai professional golfer who plays on the American-based LPGA Tour. She was born in Bangkok. She is the first golfer, male or female, from Thailand to win a major championship. She became the number one ranked golfer in the Women's World Golf Rankings in June 2017. Ji Eun-hee (; ; born 13 May 1986 in Gapyeong, South Korea), also known as Eun-Hee Ji, is a South Korean professional golfer who plays on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour. She is also a member of the South Korean KLPGA. LPGA career Ji joined the LPGA Tour in 2007 and recorded two top-10 finishes in just four events played, including runner-up at the Hana Bank-KOLON Championship. Hsu Wei-ling ( zh, c=徐薇淩, p=Xú Wēilíng; born 20 October 1994) is a Taiwanese professional golfer. Hsu was runner-up at the 2018 Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic. Amateur career Hataoka was born on 13 January 1999, named after the United States space program, NASA. Shanshan Feng (, ; born 5 August 1989) is a Chinese former professional golfer who previously played on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour. She was the first player from China to become a member of the LPGA Tour, which she joined in 2008.
