2019 Borno State Gubernatorial Election
The 2019 Borno State gubernatorial election occurred on March 9, 2019, the APC nominee Babagana Umara Zulum won the election, defeating Mohammad Imam of the PDP. Babagana Umara Zulum emerged APC gubernatorial candidate after scoring 4,432 votes and defeating his closest rival, Idris Durkwa, who received 115 votes. He picked Umar Usman Kadafur as his running mate. Mohammad Imam was the PDP candidate with Buba Haruna Biu as his running mate. 32 candidates contested in the election. Babagana Umara Zulum
Babagana Umara Zulum (born 25 August 1969) is a Nigerian professor and politician. He has served as Governor of Borno State since 2019 under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC). Early life Babagana was born on August 25, 1969, in Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State. Education After elementary schooling in Mafa Primary School from 1975 to 1980 and secondary education in Government Secondary School, Monguno from 1980 to 1985, Zulum studied at the University of Maiduguri, where he obtained a degree in Agriculture Engineering after which he served as a youth corps member with Katsina State Polytechnic. He proceeded to the University of Ibadan from 1997 to 1998, where he obtained a master's degree in Agriculture Engineering. In 2005, he enrolled for a PhD in Soil and Water Engineering with the University of Maiduguri which he completed in 2009. Dikwa
Dikwa is a town located in Borno State, Nigeria. History of Dikwa Dikwa used to be part of the kingdom of Borno before being captured by Rabih in 1893. The latter had the place fortified and Dikwa became the capital of his kingdom from 1893 to 1900. In 1900, the French defeated Rabih and captured Dikwa. The town was handed over to the Germans in 1902 because of a treaty signed in 1893 between the Germans and the British which stipulated that the town of Dikwa should become German. This treaty is at the origin of the Dikwa Emirate. Between 1902 and 1916, Dikwa was the capital of what the Europeans called German Borno. Konduga
Konduga is a community in Borno State, Nigeria and the center of a Local Government Area of the same name about 25 km to the southeast of Maiduguri, situated on the north bank of the Ngadda River.
