2019 Beach Volleyball World Championships – Men's Tournament
The men's tournament was held from 28 June to 7 July. Oleg Stoyanovskiy and Viacheslav Krasilnikov defeated Julius Thole and Clemens Wickler to win the title, while Anders Mol and Christian Sørum captured the bronze medal by beating Tri Bourne and Trevor Crabb. Qualification There were 48 teams qualified for the tournament. Normally, the host country obtained two places in the competition as well as the top 23 teams from FIVB World ranking. But, there was a hosted team ranked among the 23 teams, so the next highest ranked team qualified. The next her 20 teams belonged to five continental confederation which got four spots each. Phil Dalhausser
Philip "Phil" Peter Dalhausser (born January 26, 1980) is a Swiss-born American professional beach volleyball player, playing as a blocker. He and his former playing partner, Todd Rogers, were the 2007 AVP Tour and FIVB world champions. Dalhausser and Rogers dominated both the domestic US tour and now the FIVB international tour winning #1 team honors on both tours in 2010. Dalhausser and Rogers were Olympic gold medalists at the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics. Personal life Dalhausser was born in Baden, Aargau, Switzerland, to a German father, Peter, and a Swiss mother, Marianne. He now calls his hometown Ventura, California. He attended Mainland High School in Daytona Beach, Florida. Dalhausser did not start playing volleyball until his senior year in high school. Sam Schachter
Samuel Schachter (born May 8, 1990) is a Canadian Olympic beach volleyball player. In 2010 he won the FIVB World Junior (U-21) Championship with Garrett May. At the 2013 Maccabiah Games in Israel, he and Team Canada won a silver medal. He and partner Josh Binstock were 2014 Canadian national champions, and represented Canada at the 2015 Pan American Games and the 2016 Summer Olympics. At the 2018 Commonwealth Games, he and Binstock earned silver medals. Early and personal life Schachter was born in North York, Ontario, now lives in Richmond Hill, Ontario, and is Jewish. His parents are Jon and Doris Schachter, and he has an older brother Nathan. He attended Westmount Collegiate Institute for high school. Aleksandrs Samoilovs (born April 6, 1985) is a beach volleyball player from Latvia. Samoilovs and teammate Mārtiņš Pļaviņš, with whom he partnered since 2004, represented Latvia at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. The duo defeated the number 2 seed, Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers, in their first-round game, in what announcers called "the biggest upset in Olympic beach volleyball history." Pablo Herrera Allepuz (born 29 June 1982, in Castellón de la Plana) is a Spanish beach volleyball player who has represented his country five times at the Summer Olympics. In 2004 in Athens, he and Javier Bosma won the silver medal. In the 2008 Olympic tournament he teamed up with Raúl Mesa and lost in the round of 16. Daniele Lupo (born 6 May 1991) is an Italian beach volleyball player. He competed for Italy at the 2016 Summer Olympics and at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Along with partner, Paolo Nicolai, he won the silver medal in men's beach volleyball in 2016. He was the flag bearer for Italy during the closing ceremony. Biography Lupo was born in Rome to an Italian father and a Kazakh mother.
