2019 BDO World Trophy
The 2019 BDO World Trophy was a major darts tournament run by the British Darts Organisation. It was held between 30 August and 1 September 2019 at King George's Hall, Blackburn, England. Glen Durrant and Fallon Sherrock were the defending champions, after beating Michael Unterbuchner (10–7) and Lorraine Winstanley (6–3) respectively in the finals of last year's edition. However, Durrant was unable to defend his title after his switch to the PDC, while Sherrock lost 4–3 to Mikuru Suzuki in the first round. Jim Williams claimed his maiden major title by beating Richard Veenstra 8–6 in the men's final, while Lisa Ashton won her third World Trophy after a 6–2 win over Anastasia Dobromyslova in the women's final. Blackburn () is an industrial town and the administrative centre of the Blackburn with Darwen borough in Lancashire, England. Wesley Harms
Wesley Harms (born 11 June 1984) is a Dutch former professional darts player. Career Harms won the BDO International Open in 2011, defeating Stephen Bunting in the final. Harms qualified for the 2012 BDO World Darts Championship as the 13th seed. He defeated Martin Phillips, Robbie Green, and fellow débutant Paul Jennings to reach the semi-final where he was defeated 6–5 by Tony O'Shea. Harms's performance, followed by subsequent strong runs in the coming months, saw him briefly top the WDF world rankings. Martijn Kleermaker
Martijn Kleermaker (born February 19, 1991) is a Dutch professional darts player, currently playing in Professional Darts Corporation events. PDC He announced that he intended to compete at Q School 2020, speaking to RTL7 saying that the 2019 World Masters was a 'catastrophe'. Kleermaker won a PDC Tour Card for the first time at European Q School in 2020. He played on the ProTour since 2020. Nick Kenny (darts Player)
Nicholas Kenny (born 13 March 1993) is a Welsh professional darts player who currently plays in Professional Darts Corporation Events. He took a Bronze medal in the WDF Europe Cup. Career Kenny won the WDF European Cup youth Singles in 2010. In 2016 he qualified for the BDO World Trophy but was defeated by Mark McGeeney 7-6 in the last 16 of the competition, having beaten fifth seed Wesley Harms in the first round. Kyle McKinstry
Kyle McKinstry (born 26 August 1986) is a Northern Irish professional darts player who is currently serving an eight-year ban from the sport after admitting to match fixing in 2020. Career In 2017, McKinstry won the Hal Masters and the Northern Ireland Open. He qualified for the 2018 BDO World Darts Championship as number 17 in the BDO rankings, but he lost 3–2 to Richard Veenstra in the first round. Derk Telnekes (born April 28, 1995) is a Dutch darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. Career In 2017, Telnekes won the Belgium Open. Wayne Warren
Wayne Warren (born 12 June 1962) is a Welsh professional darts player who plays in events of the World Darts Federation (WDF). He was the last ever BDO World Darts Champion. He is the oldest player to become world champion. Darts career BDO Warren qualified for the 2005 BDO World Darts Championship, where he was the only Welshman in the field. Scott Waites
Scott Waites (born 17 February 1977) is an English professional darts player who plays in tournaments of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). He is a two-time BDO World Darts Champion having won the 2013 tournament and 2016 tournament. He is also a former Winmau World Masters champion, WDF World Cup singles' champion, Zuiderduin Masters champion.
