2018–19 West Ham United F.C. Women Season
The 2018–19 West Ham United F.C. Women season was the club's 28th season in existence and their first in the FA Women's Super League, the highest level of the football pyramid and their first as a fully professional team. Along with competing in the WSL, the club also contested two domestic cup competitions: the FA Cup and the League Cup. On 28 May 2018, it was announced that West Ham United Ladies had been granted a WSL licence, promoting the team from the third-tier FA Women's Premier League. Rosie Kmita and Vyan Sampson were the only players to remain with the club and sign on professional terms following promotion. Former WSL winner Matt Beard was appointed head coach on 7 June 2018. They changed their name to West Ham United F.C. Women in July 2018. West or Occident is one of the four cardinal directions or points of the compass. It is the opposite direction from east and is the direction in which the Sun sets on the Earth. FA Women's Premier League
The FA Women's National League, formerly WFA National League and FA Women's Premier League (WPL), is a group of six football divisions run by the English Football Association. Founded in 1991 by the Women's Football Association, the League included England's top division from 1991 to 2010. The League now sits at step 3 and 4 of the women's football pyramid (below the FA Women's Super League and the Women's Championship). The League's Premier Division/National Division contained England's top women's clubs from 1991–92 until the season 2009–10. During this time, Arsenal Ladies won 12 League titles. Below the National Division was a Northern Division and Southern Division, whose teams could win promotion. Julia Simic (born 14 May 1989) is a German retired women's Association football, footballer. She has also played for several of Germany's youth teams as well as two games with the senior national team. Career Simic was born on 14 May 1989 in Fürth and is of German and Croatian descent. Leanne Kiernan (born 27 April 1999) is an Irish footballer who plays as a striker for Liverpool of the WSL and the Republic of Ireland. Early life Born in Bailieborough in County Cavan, Kiernan attended Bailieborough Community School, where she played for the girls footsal team. She played with Bailieboro Celtic and, at the age of 12, with the boys team at Kingscourt Harps, where she was spotted by FAI scout Mark Leavy and selected for their emerging talent programme. Alisha Lehmann (born 21 January 1999) is a Swiss professional footballer who plays as a forward for English FA WSL club Aston Villa and the Switzerland national team. Tessel Tina Middag (; born 23 December 1992) is a Dutch footballer who plays as a midfielder for Rangers in the Scottish Women's Premier League and the Dutch national team, representing the country at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup. Gilly Louise Scarlett Flaherty (born 24 August 1991) is an English former footballer who last played for FA WSL club Liverpool. Flaherty is a former Arsenal Ladies player who began her career in Millwall Lionesses' youth teams. Brooke Tatum Hendrix (born May 6, 1993) is an American soccer player who plays as a defender for Reading in the Women's Super League. College career Hendrix played college soccer at Southern Miss from 2011 to 2014.
