2018–19 Southern Conference Men's Basketball Season
The 2018–19 Southern Conference men's basketball season began with practices in October 2018, followed by the start of the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season in November. Conference play will begin in January 2019 and conclude in February 2019. The season marked the 97th season of Southern Conference basketball. 2018–19 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Season
The 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season began on November 6, 2018. The first tournament was the 2K Sports Classic and the season concluded with the Final Four in Minneapolis on April 8, 2019. Practices officially began on September 28, 2018. The season saw Zion Williamson dominate Player of the Year honors and media attention, while Virginia won its first NCAA Championship. Southern Conference
The Southern Conference (SoCon) is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I. Southern Conference football teams compete in the Football Championship Subdivision (formerly known as Division I-AA). Mark Prosser is an American college basketball coach and current head coach of the Winthrop Eagles men's basketball team. Playing career Prosser played one season of basketball at Marist Red Foxes men's basketball, Marist before injuries stopped a playing career. George Edward "Skip" Prosser (November 3, 1950 – July 26, 2007) was an American college basketball coach who was head men's basketball coach at Wake Forest University at the time of his death. He was the only coach in NCAA history to take three separate schools to the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, NCAA tournament in his first year coaching the teams. In 21 years as a collegiate coach, he made 18 postseason appearances. Previously, he coached Xavier University for seven seasons, where he achieved great success. ''The Herald'' is a daily morning newspaper published in Rock Hill, South Carolina, in the United States. Its coverage is York, Chester, and Lancaster counties. In 1990, the paper was bought by The McClatchy Company of Sacramento, California. After McClatchy claimed bankruptcy in 2020, the paper was bought by Chatham Asset Management. Rock Hill is the largest city in York County, South Carolina and the fifth-largest city in the state. Fletcher Magee (born November 13, 1996) is an American basketball player for Studentski centar of the Montenegrin Basketball League and the ABA League. He played college basketball for Wofford College. James L. Dickey III (born November 28, 1996) is an American basketball player who plays the power forward and center positions. He plays for Prometey of the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League.
