2018–19 Rhode Island Rams Men's Basketball Team
The 2018–19 Rhode Island Rams basketball team represented the University of Rhode Island during the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Rams, led by first-year head coach David Cox, played their home games at the Ryan Center in Kingston, Rhode Island as members of the Atlantic 10 Conference. They finished the season 18-15, 9-9 in A-10 Play to finish in 8th place. They defeated La Salle And VCU to advance to the semifinals of the A-10 tournament where they lost to St. Bonaventure. David Cox (basketball)
David Cox (born October 17, 1973) is an American college basketball coach, who is currently an assistant coach for the Maryland men’s basketball team. Playing career Cox was a four-year letterwinner at William & Mary from 1991 to 1995, where he ranks eighth all-time in assists. Coaching career Earning a master's degree in education from William & Mary in 1996, Cox embarked on an education and coaching career, which saw him get his start in coaching at Archbishop Carroll (DC) as an assistant coach for the boys basketball team. In addition to high school coaching, Cox coached AAU basketball with D.C. Assault before landing his first college basketball position as the director of basketball operations under Jamie Dixon at Pittsburgh in 2006. Cox then returned to the Washington, D.C. area to serve as an assistant coach at Georgetown under John Thompson III from 2007 to 2010. Jared Terrell
Jared Terrell (born February 10, 1995) is an American professional basketball player for Hapoel Eilat of the Israeli Basketball Premier League. He played college basketball for the University of Rhode Island. High school career Terrell is a native of Weymouth, Massachusetts and has two brothers, Royce II and Jordan. He began his high school career at Weymouth High School, where he averaged 11 points a game. He made big strides as a sophomore and posted 16 points per game and helped Weymouth to a Bay State Conference Carey Division title with an 18-4 record. The next season, Terrell transferred to the New Hampton School, where one of his teammates was Noah Vonleh. Jarvis Garrett (born May 13, 1995) is an American professional basketball player for Barsy Atyrau of the Kazakhstan National Basketball League. Standing at , he plays the point guard position. Dan Hurley
Daniel S. Hurley (born January 16, 1973) is an American basketball coach who currently coaches the University of Connecticut men's basketball team. Hurley was named head coach of the Huskies on March 22, 2018, after two years at Wagner College and six years at the University of Rhode Island. Hurley turned down an aggressive long-term offer from Rhode Island in order to lead UConn. Prior to Wagner, Hurley was head coach of Saint Benedict's Preparatory School, where he is credited with building the New Jersey school into one of the top high school basketball programs in America.
