2018–19 Real Sociedad Season
The 2018–19 Real Sociedad season was the club's 72nd season in La Liga. This article shows player statistics and all matches (official and friendly) played by the club during the 2018–19 season. The season was the first since 2002-03 and 2004–05 without both veterans Xabi Prieto and Imanol Agirretxe, who mutually retired after the previous campaign's conclusion. Real Sociedad
Real Sociedad de Fútbol, S.A.D., more commonly referred to as Real Sociedad (; ''Royal Society''), La Real in Spanish, Erreala in Basque, is a Spanish professional sports club in the city of San Sebastián, Basque Country, founded on 7 September 1909. It plays its home matches at the Anoeta Stadium. Real Sociedad won the Liga title in 1980–81 and 1981–82, and finished runner-up in 1979–80, 1987–88, and 2002–03. The club has also won the Copa del Rey three times, in 1909, 1987 and 2020. It contests the Basque derby against rivals Athletic Bilbao. Joseba Zaldúa Bengoetxea (born 24 June 1992) is a Spanish professional Association football, footballer who plays as a right-back for Cádiz CF. Club career Real Sociedad Born in San Sebastián, Gipuzkoa, Zaldúa played his youth football with local Real Sociedad. He made his senior debut with Real Sociedad B, the reserves, spending several seasons in the Segunda División B with them. Martín Merquelanz Castellanos (born 12 June 1995) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a left winger for SD Eibar. Club career Born in Irun, Gipuzkoa, Basque Country ( Spain), Merquelanz joined Real Sociedad's youth setup in 2012, from Antiguoko. Aritz Elustondo Irribarria (born 28 March 1994) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays mainly as a right-back but also as a central defender for La Liga club Real Sociedad. Rubén Pardo Gutiérrez (born 22 October 1992) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays for CD Leganés as a central midfielder.
