2018–19 NBL Canada Season
The 2018–19 NBL Canada season is the eighth season of the National Basketball League of Canada. The regular season ran from November 15, 2018, to March 31, 2019. League changes The league originally intended to move the St. John's Edge to the Atlantic Division following the addition of the expansion Sudbury Five. However, after the NBL lost the Niagara River Lions and was back to four teams in Ontario, the league decided to play as a single table for the regular season schedule to ease the Edge's travel. The league still uses each team's overall record in a divisional table for playoff qualification as done in previous seasons. National Basketball League Of Canada
The National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada; french: Ligue nationale de basketball du Canada) is a Canadian professional men's minor league basketball organization. The NBL Canada was founded in 2011, when three existing Premier Basketball League teams joined with four new franchises for the league's inaugural season. The league has changed in size multiple times and has four active teams for the 2023 season, all in Ontario, but historically has had several located in the Atlantic provinces. The league's season typically begins in November and ends in April of the following year. The most recent champions are the London Lightning, having defeated the KW Titans 3–0 in the 2022 NBL Finals. KW Titans
KW Titans (formally known as Kitchener-Waterloo Titans Basketball Club) are a professional basketball team based in Regional Municipality of Waterloo and competing the National Basketball League of Canada. The team plays its home games at Kitchener Memorial Auditorium Complex. It was founded in 2016 by an ownership group made up of Ball Construction and a local entrepreneur, Leon Martin. History On June 28, 2016, National Basketball League of Canada announced an approved expansion team to represent the Regional Municipality of Waterloo while still in the process of negotiating a lease with Kitchener Memorial Auditorium Complex. Jamal Reynolds (basketball)
Idris Jamal Reynolds (born February 20, 1979) is an American former professional American football, football player who was a defensive end in the National Football League (NFL) for three seasons during the early 2000s. He played college football for Florida State University, and was recognized as a unanimous All-American. The Green Bay Packers chose him in the first round of the 2001 NFL draft. Bruce Massey (basketball)
Harold Bruce Massey (13 April 1906 – 9 July 1994) was a New Zealand cricketer who played first-class cricket for Wellington from 1927 to 1932. Bruce Massey made his debut in representative cricket in 1923 while still a student at Palmerston North Boys' High School. Playing for a combined Manawatu, Rangitikei and Wairarapa side against the touring MCC team, he opened the bowling in the second innings and took 4 for 14 off 11 overs. The MCC team's vice-captain, Jock Hartley, considered Massey the most promising young player they had seen in New Zealand. He made his first-class debut in the 1926-27 season, taking five wickets for Wellington against Auckland. In 1927-28 he played a match for The Rest against the returning New Zealand touring team. Obinna Oleka
Obinna Oleka (born November 4, 1993) is an American professional basketball player for Piratas de La Guaira of the Venezuelan Basketball League. He played college basketball at Arizona State. Early life Oleka grew up in Washington, D.C., with his mother and brother. He played high school basketball at Florida Christian Institute in Cape Coral, Florida, where he averaged 24 points and 11 rebounds as a senior and earned an invitation to the ESBC All-Star Game. Jaylen Bland
Jaylen Bland (born March 29, 1993) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Wisconsin Herd of the NBA G League. He played college basketball for Murray State, College of the Canyons, and UC Riverside. In 2019, he was named NBL Canada Newcomer of the Year. College career Bland signed with Murray State out of high school but decided to transfer after averaging 1.7 points per game as a freshman. Bland played one season at College of the Canyons before joining UC Riverside. Bland holds the UCR program record with 118 3-pointers in a season. Cliff Clinkscales
Clifford Clinkscales (born March 11, 1984) is an American professional basketball assistant coach for the KW Titans of the National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada) and a former player. A point guard, Clinkscales began playing professionally in 2008, with two seasons in the NBA Development League (NBA D-League). He spent most of his professional career in NBL Canada, playing from 2013 to 2020 in Halifax for the Rainmen and the Hurricanes. Bryce Washington (born January 25, 1996) is an American professional basketball player for Rizing Zephyr Fukuoka of the B.League. Braylon Rayson (born December 25, 1994) is an American professional basketball player for BK Ogre of the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League.
