2018–19 Morehead State Eagles Men's Basketball Team
The 2018–19 Morehead State Eagles men's basketball team represented Morehead State University during the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Eagles, led by second-year head coach Preston Spradlin, played their home games at Ellis Johnson Arena in Morehead, Kentucky as members of the Ohio Valley Conference. They finished the season 13–20, 8–10 in OVC play to finish in fifth place. They defeated SIU Edwardsville in the first round of the OVC tournament before losing in the quarterfinals to Austin Peay. Previous season The Eagles finished the 2017–18 season 8–21, 4–14 in OVC play to finish in last place. They failed to qualify for the OVC tournament. Preston Spradlin
Preston Spradlin is an American college basketball coach and current head coach for the Morehead State Eagles men's basketball team. Coaching career After a playing career at NAIA Alice Lloyd College, Spradlin joined John Calipari's staff at Kentucky as a graduate assistant from 2009 to 2011, and assistant director of basketball operations from 2011 to 2014. He also aided Calipari with the Dominican Republic national basketball team in 2011 and 2012. Spradlin joined Sean Woods's staff at Morehead State in 2014 as an assistant coach, and was elevated to interim head coach when Woods resigned amid player allegations that he had assaulted them. Pleasure Ridge Park High School is a public secondary school in the Pleasure Ridge Park neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky. It is part of the Jefferson County Public Schools (Kentucky) district. It is next to Greenwood Road Elementary School and Valley Sports Little League.
