2018–19 LEB Plata Season
The 2018–19 LEB Plata season was the 19th season of the Spanish basketball third league. It started on 6 October 2018 with the first round of the regular season and ended on 25 May 2019 with the promotion playoffs. Format changes On 2 June 2018, the General Assembly of the Spanish Basketball Federation agreed some changes in the competition format: *The competition will be expanded to 24 teams, divided into two groups of twelve by economical and geographical criteria. The top six teams of each group will join the group A1 for the promotion and the bottom six, the group A2 for avoiding relegation. *Three teams will be promoted to LEB Oro (the winner of the group A1 and the two playoffs winners) and six relegated to Liga EBA. *Four teams will join the playoffs for two more spots, decided by two-legged series. The LEB Plata is the third basketball division of the Spanish basketball league system and the second basketball division organized by the Spanish Basketball Federation. Iraurgi Saski Baloia, also known as Sammic Hostelería for sponsorship reasons, is a professional Basketball team based in Azpeitia, Basque Country, Spain. Founded in 1975, the men's team currently plays in LEB Oro and the women's team in the Liga Femenina 2. Basket Azuqueca, also known as Isover Basket Azuqueca for sponsorship reasons, is a professional basketball club based in Azuqueca de Henares, Castile-La Mancha, that currently plays in LEB Plata, the third tier of Spanish basketball. History Basket Azuqueca was founded on 11 December 1997 after the dissolution of former CB Azuqueca, that played in the second tier during the 1991–92 season, and as a merge of the two local clubs: Baloncesto Azuqueca and Construcciones Diego Velásquez. The 2017–18 Liga EBA season was the 24th season of the Spanish basketball fourth league. The season started in September 2017 and ended in May 2018 with the promotion playoffs to LEB Plata. 2017–18 LEB Oro Season
The 2017–18 LEB Oro season was the 22nd season of the Spanish basketball second league. It started on 29 September 2017 with the first round of the regular season and ended on 12 June 2018 with the final. Cafés Candelas Breogán won the league and promoted to Liga ACB twelve years after. Liga EBA
Liga Española de Baloncesto Aficionado (EBA), commonly known as Liga EBA, is a Spanish basketball championship that is the fourth tier level in the Spanish basketball league system, after the Liga ACB, LEB Oro, and LEB Plata. It is administered by the FEB. It was previously the Spanish second tier level competition from 1994 to 1996, the third tier level from 1996 to 2000, and the fifth tier level, from 2007 to 2009. The Liga EBA is made up of five inter-regional groups. After the regular season, sixteen teams advance to the playoffs, where only four teams are promoted to the LEB Plata. Liga Española De Baloncesto
The Liga Española de Baloncesto, also known as LEB Oro, is the second basketball division of the Spanish basketball league system after the Liga ACB. It is run by the FEB. The Liga Española de Baloncesto is divided into two categories (the other one is the LEB Plata). The LEB league was founded in 1996 and is played under FIBA rules. It was renamed LEB Oro in 2007. The league is contested by 18 clubs. Each season, the top-finishing team in the LEB Oro are automatically promoted to the Liga ACB. The teams that finish the season in 2nd to 9th place enter a playoff tournament, with the winner also gaining promotion to the Liga ACB.
