2018–19 Jordanian Pro League
The 2018–2019 Jordanian Pro League (known as the Al-Manaseer Jordanian Pro League, named after Ziad AL-Manaseer Companies Group for sponsorship reasons) was the 67th season of Jordanian Pro League since its inception in 1944. The season started on 15 August 2018 and finished in May 2019. Al-Wehdat are the defending champions of the 2017–18 season. Al-Salt and Al-Sareeh joined as the promoted clubs from the 2017–18 League Division 1. They replaced Mansheyat Bani Hasan and Al-Yarmouk who were relegated to the 2018–19 League Division 1. Teams Twelve teams will compete in the league – the top ten teams from the 2017–18 season and the two teams promoted from the 2017–18 Division 1. Jordanian Pro League
The Jordanian Pro League ( ar, الدوري الأردني للمحترفين) is a Jordanian professional league for men's football clubs and represents the top flight of Jordanian football. The championship consists of twelve competing teams in a home and away league system. The league not held in the years : 1948, 1953, 1957, 1958, 1967, 1968, 1969, and not finished in the 1998 in 2002 the league change calendar to a fall spring season. In 2020 the league return to a spring fall season. Competition format Competition There are 12 clubs in the Premier League. During the course of a season (from March to October) each club plays the others twice (a double round-robin system), once at their home stadium and once at that of their opponents', for 22 games. Teams receive three points for a win and one point for a draw. No points are awarded for a loss. Teams are ranked by total points, then goal difference, and then goals scored. Irbid ( ar, إِربِد), known in ancient times as Arabella or Arbela (Άρβηλα in Ancient Greek), is the capital and largest city of the Irbid Governorate. The Amman International Stadium ( ar, ستاد عمان الدولي) is a stadium in Al-Hussein City, Amman, Jordan. It is the largest stadium in Jordan. The stadium was built in 1964 and opened in 1968.
