2018–19 Irani Cup
The 2018–19 Irani Cup is the 57th season of Irani Cup, a first-class cricket competition in India. It was played as a one-off match between the Vidarbha (the winner of the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy) and Rest of India cricket team, from 12 February 2019 to 16 February 2019. In April 2018, ESPNcricinfo had reported that Irani Cup was proposed to be no more part of the domestic season but it was included in the final schedule released by BCCI in July. Vidarbha successfully defended their title and defeated Rest of India on first-innings basis to win the tournament. Vidarbha became the third team after Bombay and Karnataka to defend both the Ranji Trophy and Irani Cup. Hanuma Vihari became the first player to score 3 consecutive centuries in Irani Cup. First-class Cricket
First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Matches must allow for the teams to play two innings each, although in practice a team might play only one innings or none at all. The etymology of "first-class cricket" is unknown, but it was used loosely before it acquired official status in 1895, following a meeting of leading English clubs. At a meeting of the Imperial Cricket Conference (ICC) in 1947, it was formally defined on a global basis. Faiz Fazal
Faiz Yakub Fazal (born 7 September 1985) is an Indian cricketer who plays for the Vidarbha cricket team and Lisburn Cricket Club (NCU Premier League, Northern Ireland, UK), having previously played for Central Zone, India Red, India Under-19s, Railways cricket team, Railways, and Rajasthan Royals. He is a left-handed opening batsman. In the 2015–16 Deodhar Trophy, Fazal scored a 112-ball 100 for India A in the final against India B. Aditya Sarwate
Aditya Sarwate (born 10 December 1989) is an Indian cricketer who plays for Vidarbha. He made his first-class debut on 22 October 2015 in the 2015–16 Ranji Trophy. He was the leading wicket-taker for Vidarbha in the group-stage of the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy, with 38 dismissals in eight matches. Ishan Kishan
Ishan Kishan (born 18 July 1998) is an Indian international cricketer who plays for the Indian national cricket team as a wicket-keeper batsman. He made his international debut in March 2021 against England. He plays for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and for Jharkhand in domestic cricket. Wicket-keeper
The wicket-keeper in the sport of cricket is the player on the fielding side who stands behind the wicket or stumps being watchful of the batsman and ready to take a catch, stump the batsman out and run out a batsman when occasion arises. Shreyas Iyer
Shreyas Santosh Iyer (born 6 December 1994) is an Indian international cricketer who plays for the Indian cricket team as a Right-handed batter. He has played in all formats for the Indian team. Ganesh Satish (born 15 March 1988) is an Indian cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and wicket-keeper who currently plays for Vidarbha cricket team. He was born in Davanagere, Karnataka.
