2018–19 GNK Dinamo Zagreb Season
The 2018–19 season is Dinamo Zagreb's 28th season in the Croatian First Division and 106th year in existence as a football club. The season covers the period from 1 July 2018 to 30 June 2019. Dinamo will be defending their title as league champions, as well as their title as cup winners. They will also compete in the 2018–19 UEFA Champions League, entering the second qualifying round. The club's manager is Nenad Bjelica, who will be in his first full-season with the club. Review Pre-season On 23 June, Dinamo played their first friendly match of the pre-season, beating Macedonian side Rabotnički Skoplje, winning 4–0, with Mario Šitum (2), Dino Perić and Antonio Marin scoring the goals. Emir Dilaver (; born 7 May 1991) is a Bosnian-Austrian professional footballer who plays as a centre back for Prva HNL club Rijeka. Dilaver started his professional career at Austria Wien, who loaned him to Wienerberg in 2009. In 2014, he joined Ferencváros. In 2017, he moved to Lech Poznań. Ivan Šunjić (born 9 October 1996) is a Croatian professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Bundesliga club Hertha BSC, on loan from club Birmingham City. Mario Šitum (born 4 April 1992) is a Croatian professional footballer who plays for Italian Serie B club Catanzaro. Club career Šitum's senior career began when he was promoted from the Dinamo Academy to the first team in 2011, making his first-team debut in the same year in a 3–0 win over Czech side Sigma Olomouc. The 2017–18 UEFA Champions League was the 63rd season of Europe's premier club football tournament organised by UEFA, and the 26th season since it was renamed from the European Champion Clubs' Cup to the UEFA Champions League. Croatian Football Cup
The Hrvatski nogometni kup ( eng, Croatian football cup), also colloquially known as Rabuzinovo sunce (), is an annually held football tournament for Croatian football clubs and is the second most important competition in Croatian football after the HNL championship. It is governed by the Croatian Football Federation (HNS) and usually runs from late August to late May. Cup winners automatically qualify for next season's UEFA Europa Conference League, except when cup winners are also Prva HNL champions, in which case their berth in the Europa Conference League goes to the best placed team in the Prva HNL who haven't qualified for the UEFA competitions through their league performance.
