The 2018–19 season was the club's fifth season since its establishment in 2014 and their fourth season in the Indian Super League. Season overview June On 9 June 2018, midfielder Hugo Boumous extended his contract with the club. On 17 June, Goa announced the signing of Lenny Rodrigues from Bengaluru FC. On 29 June, Goa signed Jackichand Singh from Kerala Blasters FC. July On 8 July, Goa signed Lalthuammawia Ralte from Bengaluru FC. On 12 July, Goa signed full back Nirmal Chettri. On 20 July, Goa signed defender Mourtada Fall. On 25 July, midfielder Ahmed Jahouh extended his contract with the club. August On 5 August, Goa signed full back Carlos Peña. Football Club Goa is an Indian professional football club based in Goa, that competes in the Indian Super League, the top flight of Indian football. The club was established on 26 August 2014. Nicknamed as '' Gaurs'', the club plays their home matches at the Fatorda Stadium in Margao. Brazilian coach Zico was the first manager of the club. Its marquee players for its first two seasons have been French winger Robert Pires and Brazilian defender Lúcio respectively. The team finished the league stage in the second position in their first season. In the end-of-season play-offs, they lost via a penalty shootout against Atlético de Kolkata in the semi-finals after a goalless draw. The next year, the team came first in the league stage, then lost the final 3–2 to Chennaiyin FC at home. Nirmal Chettri
Nirmal Chettri (born 21 October 1990 in Melli, Sikkim) is an Indian footballer who plays mainly as a defender and last played for Southern Samity in the Calcutta Football League. Career Early career Chettri began his footballing career in 2000 with Namchi Sports Hostel after being discovered in the Sikkim governments ''Search for More Bhaichung's'' campaign (In reference to then India striker and Sikkimese-born Baichung Bhutia). In 2002 Chettri played for Namchi in the Subroto Cup where he led the team to the final, only to lose to Mizoram 1–2. He then represented Namchi in the Interreligious Peace Sports Festival in South Korea in 2004. In that same year he represented Namchi in the Chief Minister Gold Cup. Within those three years Chettri won 3 National Talent Scholarships from the AIFF. In 2005 Chettri joined Sports Academy of Sikkim and competed in the Mini SAARC. Indian Arrows (formerly known as Pailan Arrows) was an Indian developmental football club that competed in the I-League. The club was formed by the All India Football Federation in 2010, with a main goal of nurturing young Indian football talents.
