The 2018–19 season was Carlisle United's 114th season in their history and their fifth consecutive season in League Two. Carlisle United F
Carlisle ( , ; from xcb, Caer Luel) is a city that lies within the Northern English county of Cumbria, south of the Scottish border at the confluence of the rivers Eden, Caldew and Petteril. It is the administrative centre of the City of Carlisle district which, (along with Cumbria County Council) will be replaced by Cumberland Council in April 2023. The city became an established settlement during the Roman Empire to serve forts on Hadrian's Wall. During the Middle Ages, the city was an important military stronghold due to its proximity to the Kingdom of Scotland. Carlisle Castle, still relatively intact, was built in 1092 by William Rufus, served as a prison for Mary, Queen of Scots in 1568 and now houses the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment and the Border Regiment Museum. Jason Brian Kennedy (born 11 September 1986) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Marske United. In his 12-year-long playing career, Kennedy spent most of his career with Rochdale with whom he signed in 2009, going on to appear in 177 official games. Apart from Rochdale, Kennedy has previously played for Middlesbrough, Darlington, and has had loan spells with Boston United, and Bury. In 2013, he signed for Bradford City. Thomas Peter Wilson Parkes (born 15 January 1992) is an English professional footballer who plays as a defender for Livingston. Anthony Gerrard
Anthony Gerrard (born 6 February 1986) is a former professional footballer who played as a centre back. He made over 500 professional appearances in a career spent mainly in the English Football League, notably at Walsall where he won the 2006-07 League Two title and at Cardiff City where he was on the losing side as he faced his cousin Steven Gerrard's Liverpool side in the 2012 Football League Cup Final. He began his career at the Everton Academy but failed to break into their senior side. Gary Liddle
Gary Daniel Liddle (born 15 June 1986) is an English professional footballer who plays as a centre-back or midfielder for Northern Premier League side South Shields. He has played in the English Football League for Hartlepool United, Notts County, Bradford City, Chesterfield, Carlisle United and Walsall. Liddle came through the ranks at Middlesbrough where he won the FA Youth Cup in 2004. After leaving Middlesbrough, Liddle signed for local League Two side Hartlepool United where he would play an important role in Hartlepool's promotion to League One as runners-up. Danny Grainger
Daniel Leslie Grainger (born 28 July 1986) is an English professional football manager and former player who is the manager of Workington He started his career with the Scottish club Gretna, and thereafter played for Dundee United, St Johnstone and Heart of Midlothian in the Scottish Premier League. Gary Miller (born 15 April 1987) is a Scottish footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder or defender, who used to play for East Kilbride currently playing for West of Scotland Football League side St Cadocs. Joseph Luke Fryer (born 14 November 1995) is a retired English professional footballer who most recently played for Swindon Town as a goalkeeper. Career Fryer began his career with Middlesbrough at U-15 level. On 26 January 2017, Fryer moved on loan to Hartlepool United.
