2018 Women's Challenge Cup
The 2018 RFL Women's Challenge Cup was an English rugby league knockout tournament competed for by 21 teams during the summer of 2018. The competition was won by Leeds Rhinos who beat Castleford Tigers 20–14 in the final at the Halliwell Jones Stadium on 4 August 2018. Preliminary round The preliminary round ties were played in early May. First round The first round ties were all played on 3 June. The shock result of the round was the home defeat of the cup holders, Bradford Bulls, by newly formed team Castleford Tigers. Quarter-finals The draw for the quarter-finals of the Cup were made on 6 June. Ties were played on 1 July. Semi-finals The draw for the semi-finals was made on 3 July and ties were played 15 July. Wheldon Road (known as the Mend-A-Hose Jungle for sponsorship purposes) is the home ground of Castleford Tigers Rugby league Club in Castleford, West Yorkshire, England. It is on Wheldon Road, just outside Castleford town centre. The record attendance of 25,449 was for a Challenge Cup match in 1935. History Wheldon Road officially opened in 1926 and was the home of association football club Castleford Town F.C. The following year Castleford RLFC moved in after the completion of their first season (1926–27) after playing at 'Sandy Desert', which has since been redeveloped, and is the home of Castleford Lock Lane. The record attendance at the ground is 25,449 for a third round Challenge Cup match against Hunslet in 1935. The record Super League attendance at the ground is 11,731 against Leeds on 7 March 2004. Maisie Burton
Maisie Ravier is a fictional character, the leading character of ten films (1939–1947) and the radio show ''The Adventures of Maisie'' (broadcast 1945–1947, 1949–1953). She was played by actress Ann Sothern (1909–2001). Eight of the ten Maisie films were written by Mary C. McCall Jr. Unusually, there was no continuity from one picture to the next. Warrington () is a town and unparished area in the borough of the same name in the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England, on the banks of the River Mersey. Courtney Winfield-Hill (; born 9 January 1987) is an Australian born sportswoman who formerly played rugby league for and Leeds Rhinos. Originally Winfield-Hill played cricket as a pace bowler for Queensland Fire and Brisbane Heat, before moving sports and countries to play rugby league. Sporting career Nicknamed "Corker" because her younger sister had difficulty pronouncing her name as a toddler, Winfield-Hill was born in Maryborough, Queensland. Lois Forsell
Lois Forsell (born 26 July 1991) is a retired English international rugby league footballer who played as a for Leeds Rhinos Women in the Women's Super League. Forsell has also played for Bradford Bulls Women and Hunslet at club level, and has also represented Yorkshire. Playing career Forsell joined Hunslet Ladies (then known as Middleton) before moving to Bradford Bulls in 2012. In 2017 Forsell was a member of the Bradford Bulls team that completed the treble - winning the Grand Final, League Leaders Shield and Challenge Cup in the same season - and went unbeaten all season. Caitlin Beevers (born 11 October 2001) is a professional rugby league footballer and referee. She plays for Leeds Rhinos Women, Leeds Rhinos either at or . Playing career Beevers was a pupil at St John Fisher Catholic Voluntary Academy in Dewsbury and was a member of the school's team that won the Year Eleven, Year 11 Nation Schools in 2017.
