2018 US Darts Masters
The 2018 William Hill US Darts Masters was the second staging of the tournament by the Professional Darts Corporation. It was the second event in the 2018 World Series of Darts. The tournament featured 16 players (8 PDC representatives and 8 North American representatives) and was held at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on 6–7 July 2018. Michael van Gerwen was the defending champion after defeating Daryl Gurney 8–6 in the 2017 final. However, he lost 8–3 in the quarter-finals to James Wade. Gary Anderson won his sixth World Series title after beating Rob Cross 8–4 in the final. Prize money The total prize fund was £60,000. Mandalay Bay
Mandalay Bay is a 43-story luxury resort and casino at the south end of the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. It is owned by Vici Properties and The Blackstone Group and operated by MGM Resorts International. It was developed by Circus Circus Enterprises and completed at a cost of $950 million. It opened on March 2, 1999, on the former site of the Hacienda hotel-casino. MGM acquired Mandalay Bay in 2005, and Blackstone became a co-owner in 2020. Vici acquired MGM's ownership stake in 2022. Gerwyn Price
Gerwyn Stephen Price (born 7 March 1985) is a Welsh professional darts player and former professional rugby union and rugby league player. Nicknamed "The Iceman", he competes in events of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC), where he is currently the World No. 4. He is a 3-time Grand Slam Champion and a former world champion, becoming the first ever Welshman to win the tournament. He is also a former world No. 1. He broke into the top 32 on the PDC Order of Merit in 2016 and soon afterwards won his first Pro Tour title. World Series Of Darts
The World Series of Darts is a series of darts tournaments organised by the Professional Darts Corporation. Beginning in 2013, the World Series has comprised between two and seven tournaments across the world, where a mixture of the top-ranked PDC players take on local qualifiers in a knockout format. Dawson Murschell (born 23 November 1995) is a Canadian former professional darts player who played in the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events from 2017 to 2019. Career Murschell first appeared in a televised darts tournament in 2017, when he took part in the North American Championship, defeating David Cameron, before losing to eventual winner, Willard Bruguier. By qualifying for that tournament, he also qualified for the 2017 US Darts Masters in Las Vegas, where he was drawn against James Wade in the first round. After surviving six match darts from "The Machine", Murschell hit double top to win and set up a quarter-final with Gerwyn Price, which he would go on to lose 8–4. David Cameron (darts Player)
David Cameron (born 15 September 1969) is a Canadian professional darts player, who mainly competes in the World Darts Federation tournaments. He is the first and сurrent 2022 World Seniors Darts Masters champion and triple Canadian champion. Career Cameron has appeared at the BDO World Darts Championship six times, but hasn't got past the first round in his first five appearances, his only win coming against Jimmy Hendriks in 2017. In 2019 he reached the second round for the first time. He has also entered both editions of the PDC US Darts Masters in Las Vegas, qualifying both times. Daniel Lauby Jr. (born December 11, 1992) is an American professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) and World Darts Federation (WDF) events. He is the son of fellow darts player Dan Lauby. Career Lauby made his World Series of Darts debut at the 2018 US Darts Masters, where he lost to James Wade of England in a last leg decider. He then went to PDC Qualifying School to earn his PDC Tour Card in 2019, but lost in the final on the second day of qualification and failed to gain a Tour Card. Jeff Smith (born 6 November 1975) is a Canadian professional darts player who plays in the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He reached the semi-final of the 2015 BDO World Darts Championship and the final of the 2016 BDO World Darts Championship in the following year where he faced Scott Waites. Career In his first tournament, Smith reached the semi-final of the Canada National Championships in 1996. He won the tournament in 2008 beating Jeff Noble.
