2018 Tour Of Oman
The 2018 Tour of Oman was a road cycling stage race that took place between 13 and 18 February 2018 in Oman. It was the ninth edition of the Tour of Oman and was rated as a 2.HC race as part of the 2018 UCI Asia Tour. The previous year's winner, Ben Hermans, did not defend his title. The race was won by Kazakh cyclist Alexey Lutsenko, as part of . Teams Eighteen teams were invited to take part in the race. These included nine UCI WorldTeams and nine UCI Professional Continental teams. 2018 UCI Asia Tour
The 2018 UCI Asia Tour was the 14th season of the UCI Asia Tour. The season began on 28 October 2017 with the Tour of Hainan and ended 21 October 2018. The points leader, based on the cumulative results of previous races, wears the UCI Asia Tour cycling jersey. Throughout the season, points are awarded to the top finishers of stages within stage races and the final general classification standings of each of the stages races and one-day events. The quality and complexity of a race also determines how many points are awarded to the top finishers, the higher the UCI rating of a race, the more points are awarded. Nizwa
Nizwa ( ar, نِزْوَى, Nizwā) is the largest city in Ad Dakhiliyah Region in Oman and was the capital of Oman proper. Nizwa is about (1.5 hours) from Muscat. The population is estimated at around 72,000 people, including the two areas of Burkat Al Mooz and Al-Jabel Al-Akhdar. Nizwa is one of the oldest cities in Oman and it was once a center of trade, religion, education and art. Its Jama (grand mosque) was formerly a center for Islamic learning. Jebel Akhdar (Oman)
The Jebel Akhdar or Al Jabal Al Akhdar ( ar, ٱلْجَبَل ٱلْأَخْضَر, Al-Jabal Al-Akhḍar, lit=The Green Mountain), is part of Al Hajar Mountains range in Ad Dakhiliyah Governorate of Oman. It rises to a height of and encompasses the Saiq Plateau at 2,000 m above sea level. Samāʾil ( ar, سَمَائِل) is a Wilayah (province) located in Ad-Dakhiliyah Region of the Sultanate of Oman. Sama'il Valley The valley or wadi of Sama'il, also referred to as the "Sumail Gap", divides Al Hajar Mountains into the Eastern and Western subranges. A route from the coast to the country's interior traverses the valley. The gap extends about from the coast and Muscat Airport on one hand to Sama'il on the other. Magnus Cort Nielsen (born 16 January 1993) is a Danish professional road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Madinat Al Sultan Qaboos ( ar, مدينة السلطان قابوس) is a suburb of Muscat, the capital of the Sultanate of Oman.
