2018 Terengganu State Election
The 14th Terengganu State election will be held on or before 23 August 2018. The previous state election was held on 5 May 2013. The state assemblymen is elected to 5 years term each. The Terengganu State Legislative Assembly would automatically dissolve on 17 June 2018, the fifth anniversary of the first sitting, and elections must be held within sixty days (two months) of the dissolution (on or before 17 August 2018, with the date to be decided by the Election Commission), unless dissolved prior to that date by the Head of State (Sultan of Terengganu) on the advice of the Head of Government (Menteri Besar of Terengganu). Contenders Barisan Nasional (BN) is set to contest all 32 seats in Terengganu State Legislative Assembly. Terengganu State Legislative Assembly
The Terengganu State Legislative Assembly ( ms, Dewan Undangan Negeri Terengganu) is the unicameral state legislature of the Malaysian state of Terengganu. It consists of 32 members representing single-member constituencies throughout the state. Elections are held no more than five years apart, and are customarily held alongside elections to the federal parliament during a general election. The State Assembly convenes at the Wisma Darul Iman in the state capital, Kuala Terengganu. Composition Seating arrangement Role The Terengganu State Assembly's main function is to enact state laws and policies. It is also in charge of oversight of departments and agencies of the state government. Members of the assembly are responsible for checking and criticizing the executive government's actions. Malaysian United Indigenous Party
The Malaysian United Indigenous Party ( ms, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia), abbreviated BERSATU or PPBM, is a nationalist political party in Malaysia. The party was preceded by the United Indigenous Association of Malaysia (). It is a major component party within the Perikatan Nasional coalition and the Barisan Nasional coalition, after the collapse of the Pakatan-led government. BERSATU was approved and fully registered on 14 January 2017 by the Registrar of Societies (ROS) and the use of the BERSATU logo was authorized by the Malaysian Election Commission (SPR). The party held the Prime Ministerial position as well as the majority of positions in the cabinet from May 2020 to August 2021. The People's Justice Party ( ms, Parti Keadilan Rakyat , often known simply as KEADILAN or PKR) is a reformist political party in Malaysia, formed in 2003 by a merger of the National Justice Party and the older Malaysian People's Party.
