2018 Superstar Shake-up
The 2018 WWE Superstar Shake-up was the twelfth WWE draft, produced by the American professional wrestling promotion WWE between the Raw and SmackDown brands. Instead of a traditional draft, changes between the brands were made behind the scenes, with moving wrestlers simply appearing on a brand's show or announced via WWE's website or social medias. The two-day event took place on the April 16 and April 17 episodes of ''Monday Night Raw'' and ''SmackDown Live'', respectively, on the USA Network in the United States. ''Raw'' was broadcast from Hartford, Connecticut at the XL Center, and ''SmackDown'' was broadcast from the Dunkin' Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island. The WWE Draft, alternatively called the WWE Superstar Shake-up from 2017 to 2019, is a process used by the American professional wrestling promotion WWE to refresh its rosters between the Raw and SmackDown brands (2002–2011; 2016–present). WWE's former ECW brand also took part (2006–2009) during the first brand split until that brand was disbanded in early 2010. With the second brand split in 2016, wrestlers from NXT (2016–present) are also eligible to be drafted to Raw and SmackDown. The draft was first used during the brand split of 2002. It has been called the WWE Draft Lottery (2004–2005) and later simply as the "Draft" (2007–2011). In 2011, WWE ended the brand split. With ''SmackDown'' moving to Tuesdays and to a live broadcast starting July 19, 2016, WWE reintroduced the brand split with a draft held that same episode.
