2018 South American Women's Cricket Championship
The 2018 South American Women's Cricket Championship was held in Colombia from 23 to 26 August. The four teams that participated this year were the women's sides of Brazil, Chile, Mexico and Peru. This was the first time in the tournament's history that the matches were recognized as official WT20I games as the ICC granted WT20I status to all matches played between the associate teams from 1 July 2018. All participating teams made their WT20I debuts during the tournament (except for Peru who included some unqualified 'guest' players in their squad and hence their matches were not granted WT20I status). All matches were played on two fields of the Los Pinos Polo Club in Mosquera Mosquera is a Spanish surname (first name) originally from Galicia (Spain). The family crest states (Spanish) Gallego. ICC Americas is an international body which oversees cricket in countries in the Americas. It is a subordinate body to the International Cricket Council (ICC). The organisation currently has 17 members, located in Northern America, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean, and is responsible for the development, promotion and administration of the game in the above regions. Roberta de Melo Moretti Avery (born 9 July 1985) is a Brazilian cricketer and the captain of the national women's cricket team. Career Early life and career Moretti was born in Poços de Caldas, Minas Gerais as part of a sporting family: her parents played golf. 2018 South American Cricket Championship – Men's Tournament
The 2018 South American Cricket Championship was a cricket tournament took place in Mosquera near Bogotá, Colombia from 23 to 26 August 2018. This was the fifteenth edition of the men's South American Cricket Championship. Unlike the women's event, which took place simultaneously, matches played in the men's event did not have official Twenty20 International status. The ICC granted Twenty20 International (T20I) status to matches between all of its Members, starting from 1 July 2018 for women's team but not until 1 January 2019 for the men. Argentina were the defending champions having won the event in 2017, but were represented by a development squad, Argentina A. The eight participating teams were the national sides of hosts Colombia, along with Argentina A, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay and Costa Rica who were making their debut in the South American Championship. Mexico Cricket Association
Mexico is an Associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC). Mexico joined the ICC as an Affiliate in 2004 and became an associate member in 2017. Mexico is included in the ICC Americas region. Kate Louise Coppack (born 30 August 1994) is a Welsh cricketer who currently plays for Middlesex, Sunrisers and Welsh Fire. An all-rounder, she is a right-handed batter and right-arm medium bowler.
