2018 Sofia Open
The 2018 Sofia Open (also known as 2018 DIEMA XTRA Sofia Open for sponsorship reasons) was a tennis tournament played on indoor hard courts. It was the 3rd edition of the Sofia Open as part of the ATP World Tour 250 series of the 2018 ATP World Tour. It took place at the Arena Armeec in Sofia, Bulgaria, from February 5–11. ATP World Tour 250 Series
The ATP 250 tournaments (previously known as the ''ATP World Tour 250'' tournaments, ''ATP International Series'', and ''ATP World Series'') are the lowest tier of annual men's tennis tournaments on the main ATP Tour, after the four Grand Slam (tennis), Grand Slam tournaments, ATP Finals, ATP Tour Masters 1000, ATP Masters 1000 tournaments, and ATP 500 tournaments. As of 2020 ATP Tour, 2020, the series includes 39 tournaments, with 250 ranking points awarded to each singles champion—which accounts for the name of the series. João Sousa
João Pedro Coelho Marinho de Sousa (born 30 March 1989), known as João Sousa (), is a Portuguese professional tennis player. He achieved a career-high ATP singles ranking of No. 28 on 16 May 2016 and a doubles ranking of No. 26 on 13 May 2019. Continuously ranked in the world's top-100 between July 2013 and March 2021, and with four ATP Tour singles titles, Sousa is often regarded as the best Portuguese tennis player of all time. Blaž Kavčič (born 5 March 1987) is a Slovenian former professional tennis player. He was the highest ranked Slovenian male player ever, achieving a career-high of World No. 68 in August 2012, until Aljaž Bedene began to play for Slovenia again in January 2018, overtaking him with a career high ranking of 49. Chung Hyeon
Chung Hyeon (; ; born 19 May 1996) is a South Korean professional tennis player. He is the 2017 Next Gen Finals champion. As an unseeded player, he became the first Korean player to reach a Grand Slam semifinal at the 2018 Australian Open. Junior career Chung took up tennis as a way to try to help maintain his eyesight after requiring glasses at a young age. Grigor Dimitrov
Grigor Dimitrov ( bg, Григор Димитров, ; born 16 May 1991) is a Bulgarian professional tennis player. He has been ranked as high as world No. 3 in singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), which he first achieved on 20 November 2017, making him the highest-ranked Bulgarian player in history. Florian Mayer (; born 5 October 1983) is a German former professional tennis player. Mayer reached his career-high singles ranking of world No. 18 in June 2011. Jozef Kovalík (; born 4 November 1992) is a Slovak tennis player playing mostly on the ATP Challenger Tour. Martin Kližan (; born 11 July 1989) is a Slovak former professional tennis player.
