2018 Sibiu Cycling Tour
The 2018 Sibiu Cycling Tour is a cycling stage race that took place between 5 and 8 July 2018 in and around Sibiu, Romania. Raced over , the race featured a traditional cobbled prologue along with mountain stages to Bâlea Lake and Păltiniș, and was held as part of the 2018 UCI Europe Tour. In 2018 the race returned to the format last used in 2014 with four days of racing including two mountain top finishes. There were two stages on the final day including the return of the team time trial. Teams The peloton featured three Professional Continental Teams, 14 Continental Teams and two national teams. Route The race route was announced in December 2017. The 2018 UCI Europe Tour was the fourteenth season of the UCI Europe Tour. The 2018 season began on 25 January 2018 with the Vuelta a Mallorca, Trofeo Porreres, Felanitx, Ses Salines, Campos and ended on 16 October 2018 with the Nationale Sluitingsprijs. French rider Nacer Bouhanni (), who scored 1,124 points in the 2017 UCI Europe Tour, 2017 edition, is the defending champion from the 2017 UCI Europe Tour. Throughout the season, points are awarded to the top finishers of stages within stage races and the final general classification standings of each of the stages races and one-day events. The quality and complexity of a race also determines how many points are awarded to the top finishers, the higher the UCI rating of a race, the more points are awarded. Adrian Kurek (born 29 March 1988) is a Polish former professional road bicycle racer, who rode professionally between 2012 and 2021 for the , and teams. The Sibiu Cycling Tour (Cycling Tour of Sibiu until 2015) is a 2.1 category professional Road bicycle racing, bicycle road race held in Sibiu, Romania. Its first edition took place in July 2011, as part of the UCI Europe Tour. The race is organised with the support of the local council as well as the regional council of Sibiu.
