2018 SLC T20 League
The 2018 SLC T20 League was a domestic Twenty20 cricket tournament that was held in Sri Lanka, between 21 August and 2 September 2018. Four teams took part in the tournament: Colombo, Dambulla, Galle and Kandy. The Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium, Pallekele International Cricket Stadium and the R. Premadasa Stadium hosted all the matches. The third match, between Colombo and Kandy, finished as a tie, therefore going to a Super Over to determine the winner. However, the match was still tied after the Super Over, with both teams scoring five runs each. Colombo were declared the eventual winners, as they had scored the most boundaries. Colombo were the first team to qualify for the final, after remaining unbeaten in their first four matches. They were joined in the final by Dambulla, who finished second in the group stage. Sri Lanka Cricket
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) is the governing body for cricket in Sri Lanka. It was first registered with the Sri Lankan Ministry of Sports (Sri Lanka), Ministry of Sports as the Board of Cricket for Sri Lanka (BCCSL) on 30 June 1975 as a national sports body. The board was renamed in 2003. The SLC operates all of the Sri Lankan national representative cricket sides, including the Sri Lanka national cricket team, Men's, Sri Lanka women's national cricket team, Women's and Sri Lanka national under-19 cricket team, Under-19 sides. Dinesh Chandimal
Lokuge Dinesh Chandimal ( si, ලොකුගේ දිනේෂ් චන්දිමාල්; born 18 November 1989) is a professional Sri Lankan cricketer who captained the Sri Lanka national cricket team. A handy and agile right-handed batter who sometimes plays as the wicket-keeper middle order batter, Chandimal was the first captain to lead Sri Lanka in their first day-night Test match. Chandimal was a key member of 2012 ICC World Twenty20 runner-up team and 2014 ICC World Twenty20 winning team. He led Sri Lanka in first group stage of the 2014 ICC World Twenty20, until was suspended for slow over rate and subsequently lost the place in the team for the remainder of the tournament. Nuwan Pradeep
Aththachchi Nuwan Pradeep Roshan Fernando ( si, නුවන් ප්රදීප්; born 19 October 1986), commonly known as Nuwan Pradeep, is a professional Sri Lankan cricketer. Despite being a national cricketer, he had never actually played the game until he was 20 and most importantly never played with leather ball until his 20s. He shot into prominence after winning a bowling speed contest in 2007 and he was sent to Sri Lanka's Cricket Academy and also went onto earn a national test call up less than 3 years later. Lasith Abeyratne (born 23 May 1993 in Colombo, Sri Lanka) is a Sri Lankan first-class cricketer. He is a right-handed wicket-keeper batsman. Lasith Abeyratne along with Roshan Anurudda holds the record 7th wicket partnership in any forms of T20 cricket, with 107 not out. Kamindu Mendis
Pasqual Handi Kamindu Dilanka Mendis (born 30 September 1998), popularly as Kamindu Mendis, is a professional Sri Lankan cricketer who plays for the national team, and for Colombo Cricket Club in domestic cricket. Jeewan Mendis
Balapuwaduge Manukulasuriya Amith Jeevan Mendis ( si, ජීවන් මෙන්ඩිස්; born 15 January 1983) is a former Sri Lankan professional cricketer, who played limited over internationals. An all-rounder who bowls leg spin, Mendis has represented Sri Lanka in the 2012 World Twenty20 and 2015 World Cup. Domestically, he plays for Tamil Union in Sri Lanka, and he has also played for Derbyshire in England during 2017. Mendis announced his retirement from international cricket on 28 December 2021. Pinnaduwage Chaturanga de Silva (born 17 January 1990), or Chaturanga de Silva, is a professional Sri Lankan cricketer who plays limited over cricket. Chathuranga de Silva was educated at St. Aloysius College, Galle, where he started his cricket career. He is primarily a left-handed batsman but bowls handy slow left-arm orthodox.
